1. Shishiba Scolds Osaragi
Shishiba scolded Osaragi for knocking down so many torii gates during her fight with Dump. He explained that a torii gate serves as the front door to a god’s home. He told her to imagine how depressing it would feel to return home from a grueling mission, only to find her own front door completely destroyed.
Shortly after, Nagumo called Shishiba, urging him to check the very last page of the hit list carried by the death row inmates. Turning to the final page, Shishiba made a grim discovery: Slur’s ultimate plan was for the inmates to slaughter each other once their mission was complete.
2. Apart’s Past
Apart shared his past with Sakamoto. As a child, he had no friends at school; he struggled to fit in and could only watch from the sidelines as the other kids played. Even at home, his mother frequently ignored him. Apart couldn’t even remember the last time she had spoken to him, or what her voice sounded like.
Though rarely home due to work, Apart’s father still cared for him. One day, returning from work, his father noticed Apart sitting alone, looking gloomy. He gave Apart a stuffed doll, hoping the boy could practice talking and making friends with the toy before socializing with real people.
The next day, Apart tried to approach some kids playing outside, but they flatly rejected his offer to be friends. Devastated, he locked himself in his room. It was then that a dark curiosity began to consume him: what exactly was the difference between himself, objects, and other living creatures?
Driven by this morbid curiosity, he took a pair of scissors and sliced the stuffed doll open to see what was hidden inside. But his curiosity didn’t stop there. He brought a stray cat home from the park and did the exact same thing, trying to understand the inner workings of a living creature to compare them to his own.
Apart’s disturbing behavior terrified his mother, prompting her to report him to his father. Weeping, his father hugged him tightly before rushing him to a clinic for a checkup. The doctor presented the results of his brain MRI, confirming that Apart was perfectly healthy.
However, overcome with emotion, his father snapped, “If he’s normal, why would he tear a cat to pieces?” He grabbed the doctor by the collar, accusing him of trying to hide the horrifying truth that his son was a monster.
Hearing those words, Apart was consumed by rage. He grabbed a pair of scissors and brutally murdered his father. He then sliced open his father’s head, comparing the inside to the MRI film hanging on the wall. “The inside is exactly the same,” he muttered.
In that moment, Apart felt a profound sense of relief, realizing he wasn’t so different from other humans after all. This twisted revelation gave him the confidence that he could finally connect with others. Meanwhile, the doctor could only collapse to the floor, paralyzed in shock as he witnessed Apart’s sheer madness.
3. Sakamoto Advises Apart
Apart explained to Sakamoto that when he killed his father and looked inside his body, he finally felt normal—like he was just as human as anyone else.
To Apart, chopping his enemies to pieces and examining their insides was his way of feeling connected to others, a twisted validation that they were all the same. Because of this, he now desperately wanted to see what Sakamoto looked like on the inside.
However, Sakamoto firmly stated that Apart’s understanding of life was entirely flawed. To him, killing someone didn’t build a connection—it permanently severed it. He advised Apart to stop killing.
Hearing this, Apart grew furious, feeling his core beliefs were being attacked, and accused Sakamoto of lacking sympathy. Sakamoto coldly replied that a murderer had no right to lecture anyone about human connection, promising to put an end to him right then and there.
4. Takamura’s Slash
Venting his frustration, Apart leaped into the air and whipped his threads, cleanly severing several of Tokyo Tower’s steel support beams. As a result, the entire tower tilted, causing Heisuke and the tourists inside to slide uncontrollably across the sloping floor. From afar, onlookers stared in bewilderment as the iconic landmark suddenly leaned to one side.
Sakamoto immediately leaped down, grabbing a thick bundle of electrical cables wrapped around the tower. With all his might, he hauled back to keep the structure from collapsing. Thanks to the immense weight and sheer power of his heavier form, Sakamoto managed to counterbalance the tower, holding it steady. Inside, Heisuke and the tourists finally stopped sliding and were safe.
Unwilling to back down, Apart attacked again, wrapping his threads tightly around Sakamoto’s face. Sakamoto panicked; if he moved even an inch to free himself, the tower would resume its collapse. But as he glanced down, he spotted Takamura.
With a single, blinding slash of his katana, Takamura cleanly severed one of the main support pillars at the tower’s base. The massive structural shift instantly stabilized Tokyo Tower, eliminating the need for Sakamoto to hold it up. However, the citizens watching from a distance were left utterly baffled by the now permanently bent and leaning structure.
Afterward, Takamura walked calmly through the crowd, completely ignoring the people staring in shock at the bizarrely shaped tower. Without a backward glance, he headed straight for a waiting taxi. As he opened the door, the driver casually asked, “Hey Gramps, did you manage to hit the restroom?” Takamura remained completely silent as he slid into the back seat.
5. Sakamoto Defeats Apart
Sakamoto rapidly shrank his face, successfully slipping free from Apart’s deadly threads. Moving with blinding speed, he launched forward and delivered a devastating punch to Apart’s torso, launching him into the air and nearly sending him plummeting off the tower.
However, Sakamoto quickly yanked the thread still attached to Apart’s wrist, whipping him violently back up to the top of the tower. Sakamoto lunged after him, grabbed a heavy metal ladder, and smashed it directly into Apart. The brutal impact sent Apart rocketing backward into the rooftop guardrail, where he slumped over, completely exhausted.
Giving him no room to breathe, Sakamoto followed up with a vicious kick. Apart was launched into the air once again, teetering on the edge of the abyss. But once more, Sakamoto pulled the thread, halting Apart in mid-air and leaving him dangling helplessly over the edge.
Staring down at him, Sakamoto declared that Apart had the power to change his life whenever he wanted. That was the only reason Sakamoto hadn’t let go of the thread to let him fall. The words struck a chord deep within Apart.
Not stopping there, Sakamoto violently yanked the thread, launching Apart high into the sky once more. With lightning speed, Sakamoto spun the wire, sending Apart spiraling uncontrollably through the air.
With a final, explosive heave, Sakamoto whipped the thread downward, slamming Apart’s body brutally against the steel framework of Tokyo Tower. Afterward, Sakamoto left the tower, casually dragging the unconscious Apart by the hood of his jacket.
6. Sakamoto Believes in Apart
At Granny Miya’s clinic, the unconscious Apart sat slumped with his head resting on a kotatsu table. Surrounding him were Shaotang, Sakamoto, Shin, and Heisuke, casually eating mandarin oranges. The moment Apart began to regain consciousness, Shin picked it up with his telepathy and immediately told him to stop pretending to be asleep.
Apart shot up from the table and demanded to know why they hadn’t killed him. Shaotang replied that they needed intel on his employer. Apart shot back, asking if they had even considered the possibility that he might just attack them all the second he woke up.
Sakamoto calmly replied that he felt Apart had the potential to change for the better. The sentiment deeply moved Apart.
Sakamoto then rubbed his knuckles and offered a stern warning: if Apart ever tried to go on a rampage again, he would gladly smash his body against Tokyo Tower’s steel frame a second time. Apart’s face instantly went pale. The sheer trauma of his brutal defeat had effectively broken his spirit.
Deep down, however, Apart felt a strange sense of joy. For the first time in his life, Sakamoto and his friends were talking to him and treating him like a normal human being.
7. Apart Reveals Kashima’s Goal
Now joining them at the kotatsu, Apart ate mandarin oranges alongside Shin, Sakamoto, Shaotang, and Heisuke.
Apart revealed that Kashima was the one who had hired him, though he admitted he had no idea who Slur actually was. He then explained that after dicing up Kashima’s body, he had left the hotel room. But before walking out the door, Apart had secretly planted a thread inside, allowing him to eavesdrop on Kashima’s phone call with Slur.
Through that thread, he learned that Slur planned to launch a full-scale assault on the JAA Kanto branch, intending to massacre everyone inside while the Order was busy hunting down the four death row inmates.
Shin remarked that Slur had to be completely insane to think he could destroy the JAA. Sakamoto then declared that he would head to the Kanto branch immediately.
8. About the JAA
The JAA boasts a massive roster of around one thousand members, with nearly four hundred serving as elite professional assassins. It stands as the absolute largest assassin association in all of Japan.
The JAA Kanto branch operates as the central hub for its hitmen, managing everything from contracts and mediation to logistics. The customer service department is on standby 24/7, fielding calls from clients looking to hire a JAA operative.
They are also responsible for repairing public infrastructure damaged during missions, as well as developing and manufacturing state-of-the-art weaponry. Simply put, the Kanto branch is the beating heart of the entire JAA.
9. Slur & Gaku
Gaku pedaled a bicycle with Slur riding on the back. They were heading straight for the JAA Kanto branch, ready to carve their names into an event unprecedented in the history of the assassin underworld.
Upon arriving, as Gaku parked the bike, a JAA security guard approached them. The guard demanded to see their visitor passes or employee IDs. Gaku casually replied that he didn’t have one because he wasn’t a member.
Realizing they were intruders, the guard instantly drew his gun, aiming it at Gaku’s face and threatening to kill them both. However, Gaku delivered a devastating punch, blasting a clean hole straight through the guard’s torso and killing him in a single strike.
Stepping over the body, Gaku and Slur walked toward the main entrance. Sounding slightly nervous, Slur admitted it had been a long time since he last visited the Kanto branch; it felt exactly like returning to school after a long vacation.
As they stood before the main doors, preparing to breach the building, Slur added that by destroying the JAA today, they were taking one massive step closer to achieving their “noble justice.”
