Qiuqa put together 9 key points after watching Dandadan Episode 18.
1. The Arrival of the Hayashi Group

Momo quickly splashed hot water over the Evil Eye, snapping Jiji back to his senses. Dropping to his knees, he profusely apologized for what he had done while possessed.
The Turbo Granny whacked Jiji’s back with a stick, while Aira scolded him for being careless and dropping his guard around cold water. Seiko quickly intervened, calming them down. She pointed out that Jiji’s situation was incredibly difficult to manage.
Moments later, four men dressed like punk rockers walked up to Seiko, introducing themselves as the Hayashi Group—the guests she had been expecting. Momo, Okarun, Aira, Jiji, and Seiko stared in absolute shock, surprised by the Hayashi Group’s perfectly timed arrival.
2. The Power of the Hayashi Group

Seiko walked over to the Hayashi Group as they began their soundcheck, tuning their instruments before the performance. Momo, Aira, Jiji, and Okarun watched with burning curiosity, wondering exactly what kind of show these guys were about to put on.
Seiko explained to Momo that the Hayashi Group weren’t traditional exorcists. In fact, they had absolutely zero spiritual awareness or sensitivity to ghosts.
However, the raw energy and sheer volume of their live performances were so intense that the sound of their music and vocals could physically penetrate the afterlife. Because the band members themselves were spiritually blind, their presence wouldn’t accidentally attract hostile spirits during the exorcism process.
Out in the yard, Seiko prepared the ritual once again. She sat facing Jiji, whose body lay flat on a table positioned directly in front of a roaring fire by the shrine.
3. The Concert

The Hayashi Group geared up to perform. Ujang took the bass, Wawan on lead vocals, Panjul behind the drums, and Junaidi on the guitar. Without hesitation, they launched into a heavy track called Haunting Soul.
The rock music was incredibly intense and legitimately cool. The vocals were powerful, and the lyrics were stirring, completely mesmerizing Aira, Momo, and Okarun. Swept up in the performance, the three teenagers nodded their heads along to the heavy rhythm.
Even Seiko, sitting formally on the ground while watching Jiji’s body on the table, couldn’t help but enjoy the music. She nodded her head to the beat, rhythmically waving her gohei wand over Jiji in perfect time with the song.
The Hayashi Group’s performance was so overwhelmingly loud that the soundwaves carried all the way to a nearby cemetery. Drawn by the music, thousands of spirits drifted over, gathering around the yard to watch and enjoy the concert. Meanwhile, Jiji’s body began to convulse wildly, reacting violently to the intense rhythm and roaring vocals.
4. Jiji’s Plea

Seeing Jiji’s body thrashing uncontrollably, Seiko ordered Momo to use her aura hands to pin him down. As Momo grabbed him, she could physically feel the spiritual energy of the Evil Eye roiling inside Jiji’s body. Just as Momo prepared to yank the spirit out, Jiji suddenly screamed, begging her not to remove the Evil Eye.
Jiji confessed that he had made a promise to keep the Evil Eye company for the rest of his life. He felt profound pity for the spirit; when the Evil Eye was a human boy, he had no friends and desperately wanted someone to play with. Tears streaming down his face, Jiji pleaded with them not to destroy the spirit. He swore he would try harder than ever to avoid cold water.
Seiko didn’t hesitate. She grabbed a fire extinguisher and blasted the ritual fire, completely putting it out. The Hayashi Group stopped playing in shock. Snatching the microphone from Wawan, Seiko officially announced that the exorcism was canceled. She dismissed the band, declaring that she had decided to keep the Evil Eye as a family pet.
5. Okarun is Ready to Handle Jiji

Okarun, Momo, and Aira were completely floored by Seiko’s decision. Seiko simply told them that Jiji had made his choice with absolute, unwavering resolve—and she respected that kind of conviction.
Aira furiously protested, arguing that Jiji’s selfish decision was going to waste all their precious time, forcing them to constantly babysit him.
Okarun stepped up, firmly stating that he would just train harder. He vowed to become strong enough to physically subdue the Evil Eye whenever it possessed Jiji. He was more than willing to take on the burden because he considered Jiji a truly precious friend. Hearing this, Jiji was deeply moved.
Momo threw an arm around Okarun’s shoulder, boldly declaring that she would train harder too, so she could fight right alongside him against the Evil Eye.
Consumed by jealousy, Aira violently slapped Momo’s arm off Okarun. A bitter argument instantly broke out between the two girls. Furious, Aira yelled that she would train even harder to help Okarun fight the Evil Eye.
6. Learning to Control the Evil Eye

After patching up the massive holes in Momo’s walls and roof using cardboard boxes, Seiko instructed Jiji to sit formally in the seiza position. She told him to visualize laser beams shooting out from the crown of his head and his fingertips.
But the moment Seiko nudged him with her baseball bat, Jiji easily toppled over. Momo, who was also sitting in seiza, challenged Jiji to push her as hard as he could. Jiji shoved her with all his might, but was absolutely stunned when Momo didn’t budge an inch.
Seiko praised Momo, noting how she used to stubbornly refuse training but had now become an expert. It suddenly clicked for Jiji. Since childhood, Momo had constantly posed with one hand on her head, her thumb and index finger pointing up to form an “L.” Back then, Jiji had relentlessly mocked her for it, but now he realized she had been practicing how to project her ki energy the entire time.
Seiko explained that if Jiji could successfully project his ki, he would be able to harness his own immense spiritual power. Once he mastered it, Jiji would become incredibly strong—strong enough to fully control the Evil Eye’s power from within.
7. Repaying the Debt

The next morning, Okarun heated up tap water for Jiji and told him to go wash his hands safely. Afterward, Okarun warned Jiji to step back while he repaired a loose cardboard patch on the wall, worried that a stray drop of morning dew might splash onto Jiji.
Jiji felt terrible, apologizing profusely for being such a massive burden on Okarun. Okarun waved it off, explaining that when he was possessed by the Turbo Granny, he had been a massive burden on Momo and Seiko. Despite everything, they had taken care of him with all their hearts.
Okarun admitted that he had once tried to pay Seiko back for replacing his ruined school uniform. He had even taken up a part-time job delivering newspapers to save up the money, but Seiko had firmly refused to accept it.
She had told Okarun that if he felt indebted for the help he received, his only job was to pay that kindness forward by helping someone else in need. Okarun said he just wanted to pass Seiko’s words on to Jiji. Hearing this, Jiji smiled, remarking that Seiko was incredibly cool.
8. Part-Time Job

Later, Seiko, Okarun, Momo, Aira, and Jiji all sat down together for breakfast at the dining table. Once they finished, Jiji stood by the torii gate, waving goodbye as Okarun, Momo, and Aira headed off to school.
In class, Momo told Miko and Muko that she desperately needed to find a part-time job to pay for the repairs to her ruined house. Muko mentioned that another classmate, Ririn, was currently looking for someone to work part-time at a local cafe.
Momo immediately asked Muko and Miko to tell Ririn that she was highly interested in the job.
9. The Cafe

After school, Miko and Muko ambushed Okarun in his classroom, forcefully dragging him out for a three-way “date.” Despite Okarun’s frantic protests and stubborn refusals, the two girls overpowered him and dragged him along. The trio hopped on a train, and upon arriving at their destination, Miko and Muko led Okarun straight into a cafe.
The moment they walked through the door, Okarun froze in shock. Standing before him were two waitresses dressed in adorable, frilly uniforms—and one of them was Momo. Smirking, Miko and Muko ordered three glasses of tea and demanded that Momo serve them properly.
Momo was absolutely mortified to see Okarun standing there, and Okarun was equally stunned to discover that Momo was working part-time at a maid cafe.
