Qiuqa put together 10 key points after watching Dandadan Episode 8.

1. Why Aira Attacked Momo

At home, Seiko hosted Okarun, the Turbo Granny, Momo, and Aira, serving them a meal of somen.

While eating, Aira told Momo that she didn’t hold a grudge just because of the washbasin incident. Instead, she firmly believed Momo was a demon in human form—and that was the real reason she had targeted her.

Momo shot back, denying the accusation and calling Aira a total nuisance for throwing wild allegations over a simple misunderstanding.

But Aira stood her ground, claiming she had solid proof. She pointed out that Okarun had literally turned into a demon while fighting Acrobatic Silky, and that Seiko was far too beautiful and youthful to actually be Momo’s grandmother.

Hearing this, Seiko was instantly flattered. Delighted by the compliment, she called Aira a sweet girl and jokingly agreed that Momo was, in fact, a demon.

Aira took the joke as hard evidence. She confidently concluded that Seiko and Okarun were mere demon subordinates, while Momo was the supreme boss leading them to destroy the world.

2. Aira Likes Okarun

As Aira prepared to head home, she paused to voice her confusion. If Okarun really was a demon, why had he repeatedly risked his life to save her from Acrobatic Silky? She asked him flat out why he had done it.

Okarun answered simply, “If someone is in trouble, it’s only natural to help them.”

Aira was stunned. She hadn’t expected a demon to possess such a remarkably human heart. Vowing to free him from Momo’s dark control, she said her goodbyes and left.

Momo, having listened to the whole exchange, felt incredibly awkward. She looked at Okarun and asked, “Seriously, what is her deal?”

Okarun figured it was just an absurd, illogical misunderstanding. Momo completely agreed, adding, “Yeah, I think there’s just something wrong with her brain.”

Meanwhile, outside, Aira felt the flutter of romance in her chest. She firmly told herself she couldn’t let those feelings grow. In her mind, she was a human and Okarun was a demon—a forbidden love that could never be allowed to blossom.

3. Reinstalling the Meatball

Later, Okarun, Momo, the Turbo Granny, and Seiko gathered to reinstall Okarun’s missing “meatball,” styling the bizarre ritual like a game of baseball.

The Turbo Granny stepped up as the pitcher, winding up to throw the golden meatball toward Okarun, who crouched in the catcher’s position. Seiko acted as the batter, intentionally swinging wide to let the “ball” pass.

The meatball rocketed straight into Okarun’s groin—who was positioned right behind Seiko—and instantly reattached itself. Okarun let out a hysterical scream of pain and toppled backward.

Standing right behind him, Momo played the role of umpire. With absolute deadpan seriousness, she yelled, “Strike! Batter out!”

Recovering from the shock, Okarun proudly announced that his meatball had officially returned, and the group immediately erupted into joyful celebration.

4. Aira’s Love Confession

In the school courtyard, Okarun was pushing himself through a rigorous workout of push-ups, sit-ups, back extensions, and squats, following Seiko’s training advice. He knew the search for his remaining “meatball” would bring even more dangerous enemies. Determined not to be a burden or put Momo in danger anymore, he swore to get stronger.

Suddenly, Aira walked up to him. Startled, Okarun stopped and asked, “Can I help you?”

Instead of answering, Aira cupped his cheeks and leaned in for a kiss. Moving quickly, Okarun threw his hands up, blocking her mouth just in time. Aira looked genuinely confused as to why he dodged, while Okarun frantically told her she couldn’t just lunge at people like that.

Aira calmly explained that according to a book in her father’s study, a proper love confession required a kiss, and the man was obligated to accept it.

Okarun was appalled, declaring the book must be some kind of cult garbage. Undeterred, Aira forced her way forward again. Okarun caught her chin with his hand to hold her back.

Frustrated, Aira swept his legs, sending them both crashing to the dirt. They landed in a highly compromising position—Okarun pinned on top of her, barely catching his weight on her shoulders to avoid crushing her. Aira closed her eyes, her face relaxed in total submission, fully ready for the kiss. The air was thick with intense romantic tension.

At that exact moment, Momo walked by. She froze in shock, staring at the anime-style kabedon scene playing out on the ground. The two drinks she was carrying slipped from her hands, crashing to the floor. Okarun instantly panicked, desperate to explain before she got the wrong idea.

5. The Mantis Shrimp

Okarun chased after Momo, carrying the two drinks she had dropped. But Momo just kept walking, furiously calling him a liar. He had claimed he was too busy writing a report to hang out, only for her to catch him making out with Aira in the courtyard. Okarun desperately tried to explain the real reason for his lie, but Momo harshly snapped at him, utterly refusing to hear a single excuse.

Later, in the science lab, Momo listened to her teacher explain the biology of the mantis shrimp. The creature could punch at speeds of 80 kilometers per hour, delivering 1,500 newtons of force. However, this devastating power only worked underwater; on land, its strikes were completely useless. To demonstrate, Momo dipped a plastic ruler into the classroom aquarium, and the mantis shrimp instantly struck, cracking the ruler in half.

Meanwhile, Okarun couldn’t focus on his classes at all. He was eaten alive by guilt for hiding his secret training from Momo. He had lied about having a report to get out of eating lunch with her, just so he could go work out. Instead, that lie had spiraled into a massive misunderstanding. Now Momo firmly believed he had blown her off just to flirt with Aira.

6. The Void Space

Suddenly, every student in Okarun’s classroom vanished without a trace, leaving him completely alone. He hurried out into the hallway and ran into Aira. Both were deeply unnerved by the eerily empty school and the pitch-black void outside the windows.

Suspicious, Aira asked, “Is this some kind of trap set up by you and Momo?”

Okarun quickly denied it. He explained that he and Momo had been trapped in a dimensional void like this before, and the only way to return reality to normal was to defeat the alien controlling it.

Aira was floored. “Aliens are actually real?” she asked.

“Yeah,” Okarun replied gravely. “And they’re way worse than ghosts.”

Struggling to process this, Aira asked why aliens were attacking humans in the first place.

“I don’t know for sure,” Okarun admitted. “But I think they’re targeting human reproductive organs, especially from women.”

7. Mantis & Nessie Appear

Without warning, a Mantis alien materialized, startling them both. Wearing heavy boxing gloves, the creature moved with terrifying speed, throwing a lethal punch straight at Aira. Reacting instantly, Okarun transformed. Moving even faster than the alien, he scooped Aira up and dashed to safety, narrowly dodging the blow.

Okarun then ordered Aira to go find a place to hide so she wouldn’t get in the way of the fight. Instead of taking the situation seriously, Aira simply blushed. “Don’t use my first name so casually,” she murmured. “We haven’t even kissed yet.”

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the void, Momo was hiding behind a classroom door, carefully peeking out at a massive, dinosaur-like alien resembling the Loch Ness Monster roaming the hallway. The Nessie alien began siphoning the water flooding the corridor, compressing it, and firing it back out as a high-pressure laser that effortlessly sliced through the building’s concrete walls. Fortunately, Momo was sitting low to the ground, allowing the deadly beam to pass harmlessly over her head as it cleaved through her hiding spot.

8. The Serpians Return

Suddenly, an overwhelming gravitational force slammed into Okarun, crushing him face-down against the floor. The intense pressure forcefully deactivated his transformation, leaving him paralyzed. Three Serpo aliens materialized, circling his immobilized body. They coldly remarked how pleased they were to finally see him again.

Fighting through the agonizing weight, Okarun desperately yelled for Aira to run, warning her that the Serpians specifically hunted women. Before she could react, one of the aliens fired a psychokinetic blast, sending Aira flying until she crashed hard onto the floor.

The Serpians observed her curiously, baffled as to how an ordinary human girl had managed to enter the void space, as only humans with exceptionally high spiritual energy should be capable of crossing over.

9. They Want Okarun’s Sausage

The Serpians then revealed the true purpose of their ambush: they had come to harvest Okarun’s “sausage.” Thoroughly annoyed, Okarun couldn’t fathom why absolutely everyone in the universe was obsessed with stealing his genitals.

The aliens explained that Okarun possessed an extraordinary power that vastly defied their advanced technology and scientific understanding. They coveted his ability to teleport through smartphone signals and run at lightning speeds. Their goal was to dissect his body, research his biology, and transplant those supernatural abilities into the Serpian race.

Okarun fiercely protested, insisting that his powers were the result of a curse, not his own natural abilities. He pointed out that his actual physical body was even weaker than an average human’s. The Serpians, however, were strictly logical beings; they had absolutely no concept of what a “curse” was and ignored his warnings entirely.

10. Aira Transforms

Pinned to the ground, Okarun suddenly realized that the intense gravitational pressure wasn’t just crushing him—it was actively preventing his transformation. It felt exactly like when Momo used her esper powers to forcefully suppress his curse.

Without warning, the gravity reversed, levitating Okarun’s helpless body into the air above the Serpians’ heads. The aliens prepared for the operation, pulling out a pair of surgical scissors to amputate his “sausage.” Okarun screamed in absolute terror.

But just as they were about to cut, three distinct, bright pink ponytails lashed out, tightly coiling around the three Serpians and instantly halting the procedure. Aira had awakened her powers, transforming into her own Acrobatic Silky mode. The aliens stared in shock as Aira stood tall, her voice echoing with fierce authority as she demanded they release Okarun immediately.
