Qiuqa highlights 4 key points from Naruto Classic Episode 6.
1. A C-Rank Mission
Hiruzen assigned Team 7 a mission to protect Tazuna, a master bridge builder from the Land of Waves, until his construction project was finished. Orders in hand, the team gathered their gear and departed through the gates of Konoha.
Along the way, Kakashi reassured an anxious Sakura, explaining that a standard C-rank mission would not involve combat against other ninja.
2. Gozu & Meizu
However, Kakashi noticed something suspicious: a puddle on the dry dirt road, despite the clear weather. Suddenly, two ninja—Gozu and Meizu—burst from the shallow water. Moving swiftly, they flanked Kakashi from behind and hurled a heavy chain connected to their iron gauntlets, wrapping it tightly around him. With a vicious tug, they pulled the chain taut, seemingly shredding Kakashi to pieces right in front of his horrified students.
Without missing a beat, the assassins materialized behind a terrified Naruto. Reacting instantly, Sasuke leaped into the air and hurled a shuriken at their chain, pinning it firmly to a tree trunk and stopping their assault dead in its tracks. Seizing the opening, Sasuke landed squarely on their iron gauntlets, using them as leverage to deliver a brutal kick that sent both attackers flying backward.
3. The Truth, Tazuna
Gozu and Meizu quickly detached the iron chain from their gauntlets and charged at Tazuna, who was being shielded by Sakura. Sasuke jumped in front of them, ready to intercept the attack. Before they could clash, Kakashi suddenly reappeared. In a flash, he caught Gozu and Meizu by the neck, knocking them both unconscious and leaving them dangling effortlessly from his left and right hands.
Kakashi then demanded to know why Tazuna had lied about the mission. Instead of disclosing that he was being hunted by lethal ninja, Tazuna had only requested protection from common thieves until his bridge was finished. Kakashi bluntly stated that a threat of this magnitude should have been classified as a B-rank mission, carrying a significantly higher fee.
4. Gato & Zabuza
Hearing this, Sakura urged them to retreat, arguing that the mission was far too dangerous for Genin. She insisted they return to the village immediately to treat Naruto, whose hand had been slashed by the assassins’ poisoned claws.
Frustrated by being looked down upon, Naruto defiantly drove a kunai straight into his own poisoned wound to bleed it out. He swore he would never back down out of fear again and vowed to protect Tazuna. When Kakashi stepped in to inspect the injury, he was shocked to watch the wound slowly knit itself back together—a testament to the healing power of the Nine-Tailed Fox sealed inside Naruto.
Meanwhile, in a distant hideout, Gato furiously berated Zabuza for Gozu and Meizu’s failure to assassinate the bridge builder. Unfazed, Zabuza simply leveled his massive sword at Gato’s neck, coldly promising that he would use it to decapitate the ninja protecting Tazuna.
