1. Why Jiji is Staying Over
At the dining table, Momo kept Jiji company as he ate alone, having arrived late in the evening. Meanwhile, Seiko relaxed nearby, casually watching television.
“Why does Jiji have to stay at our house?” Momo asked.
Seiko replied, “Both of his parents have been hospitalized.”
After dinner, as Momo and Jiji washed dishes together, Jiji confessed his regrets. He apologized for mocking Momo when they were kids for chanting her grandmother’s warding spells before school. He then dropped a bombshell: he could now see ghosts.
Jiji reminded her that they had been separated since middle school, when he moved to a remote house in the mountains. Showing her photos of the scenic landscape around his new home on his phone, he explained how much he had loved the atmosphere—especially since the house was large and beautiful.
“Even though I was really excited to live there at first,” Jiji said, his tone shifting, “over time, I started to feel that something was deeply wrong.”
2. The Curse on Jiji’s House
Jiji told Momo that his parents had refused to listen to his stories about the bizarre phenomena in the house. Initially, Jiji assumed it was just his imagination and tried to ignore it. However, the ghost eventually manifested in one of the rooms, shrouded in a sinister purple aura.
Since that day, Jiji continuously saw the ghost reappear, and his parents’ health rapidly deteriorated shortly after.
Desperate, Jiji admitted to hiring renowned exorcists to banish the spirit. Tragically, three out of the five exorcists he hired ended up taking their own lives. Even a seasoned veteran failed to cleanse the haunted house.
Left with no other options, Jiji decided to follow the final piece of advice he had received: hire Seiko.
Momo smiled. “That was the right call. My grandma is incredibly strong.”
3. Seiko Gives Momo a Job
Still watching TV, Seiko—who had been listening to their conversation at the sink—bluntly stated that she couldn’t help Jiji. She explained that her powers were strictly bound to Kamigoe City. She informed Jiji that the job would be handed over entirely to Momo.
Seiko urged Momo to think about the situation critically: Jiji, who previously couldn’t see ghosts, suddenly could. There was a high probability that this sudden awakening was connected to Okarun’s missing “meatball.”
As a reward, Seiko promised to buy Momo as many school uniforms as she wanted, on the strict condition that Momo took the job to break the curse on Jiji’s house.
4. Jiji the Transfer Student
At school, Jiji introduced himself as a transfer student in front of the class. His handsome looks instantly charmed the girls, while the boys glared in sheer annoyance. Knowing they were relatives, Mr. Budi assigned Jiji to the empty seat next to Momo.
Momo’s two best friends, Miko and Muko, melted instantly when Jiji smoothly complimented them, calling them both beautiful.
Curious, Miko asked Momo who Jiji really was. Momo explained that they were childhood friends from elementary school.
Soon after, Jiji casually announced to the entire class that he was currently living with Momo, sending the room into an absolute uproar. Shocked, Momo frantically told him to shut up, terrified of the weird rumors that would spawn. But leaning into his cheeky persona, Jiji proudly claimed that Momo was his girlfriend and that their parents had already given them their blessing.
Muko quickly intervened, telling Jiji to back off because Momo already belonged to Okarun.
5. Okarun gets Jealous
In class, Okarun couldn’t focus on the English teacher explaining that “jealous” was an adjective. His mind was racing, wondering if Momo still liked Jiji, or worse, if they still harbored mutual feelings for each other.
Okarun began spiraling into overanalysis. If Jiji and Momo started dating again, would Momo stop being his friend? Maybe she would adopt Jiji’s interests and slowly lose her passion for the occult—the very topic that bound Okarun and Momo together during lunch breaks.
6. Jiji & Momo Catch Up
During lunch break, Okarun aggressively did push-ups in the school courtyard, trying to sweat out his negative thoughts. Momo approached him, claiming she wanted to eat her lunch there to make sure he didn’t do anything weird with Aira again. Noticing Okarun’s hands were currently occupied lifting dumbbells, Momo offered to feed him her lunch.
However, Jiji suddenly appeared, walking up to Momo. He recognized Okarun as the friend he had briefly seen at Momo’s house the night before. Jiji then handed Momo her favorite drink—yogurt-flavored Pompy. Momo’s face lit up with joy; she hadn’t had it since elementary school and was touched that Jiji actually remembered.
Okarun couldn’t bear watching their intimate dynamic unfold right in front of him. He turned his back and walked away, leaving them happily chatting, completely unnoticed by either Momo or Jiji. Deep down, Okarun made a silent, heartbreaking vow to stop seeing Momo—for both of their sakes.
7. Taro
Suddenly, a booming voice echoed out, “There is no way I’m giving up!” The shout came from a human anatomical model named Taro, who was sprinting furiously down the path. Startled by Taro charging straight at him, Okarun turned and ran for his life, only for Taro to forcefully shove him out of the way.
Momo and Jiji were stunned to see a living, talking anatomical model. Reacting quickly, Jiji grabbed Momo to pull her out of Taro’s warpath, sending them both crashing to the ground. Taro leaped right over them. In that split second, Momo caught a glimpse of Taro’s crotch and screamed to Okarun that there was a “golden meatball” down there.
Momo immediately extended her aura hands, grabbing onto Taro’s body. However, Taro only ran faster. Because Jiji was still tightly holding onto Momo, they were both forcefully yanked into the air, flying helplessly behind Taro as he gained blistering speed.
8. Okarun vs. Taro
Outside the school gates, Okarun transformed and prepared to chase down Taro, who was currently dragging Momo and Jiji through the air. Though he started far behind, Okarun accelerated to a blinding speed, eventually overtaking Taro on a busy, traffic-filled street.
Taro kicked into a higher gear, causing Momo and Jiji to whip erratically through the air. Just as they were about to violently crash into a passing bus, Okarun moved in a flash, grabbing Momo’s hand and yanking her to safety. He then leaped onto a nearby rooftop, hoisted Momo and Jiji onto his back, and resumed the chase as Taro bounded across the city’s rooftops.
Momo finally managed to latch her aura hands onto Taro once more. Anchored on Okarun’s back, she acted as a pivot, pulling back on Taro with everything she had like a high-stakes game of tug-of-war. Jiji helped, holding onto Momo from behind to stabilize her and add his own pulling strength.
However, Taro stubbornly gripped a utility pole to resist being dragged. The immense opposing tension caused his anatomical body to rip apart, scattering his pieces across the street and breaking Momo’s psychic grip. Momo, Okarun, and Jiji stared in shock. But Taro’s separated parts seamlessly reassembled in an instant. Fully reformed, Taro resumed his high-speed sprint, leaving the three of them stranded on the roof.
9. How to Track Taro
After running quite a distance without finding any trace of Taro, Okarun, Momo, and Jiji finally stopped to catch their breath. Momo then slammed her fist into her open palm, and suddenly, a scream echoed from a specific direction. Momo immediately told Okarun and Jiji to follow her toward the sound.
The three of them entered a scrapyard, where they found Taro lying face-down, writhing in pain.
Okarun was baffled, asking how Momo knew exactly where Taro had gone. Momo laughed, revealing that when Taro’s body had ripped apart, she had managed to snatch his heart. Because she was holding it, whenever she smacked the heart into her palm, Taro felt the pain directly and screamed.
Momo offered to return the heart on the condition that Taro stopped running. However, she demanded that he show them the “golden meatball” in his crotch, suspecting it might be Okarun’s missing piece.
10. Taro & Hana
Suddenly, a woman’s voice called out from behind a mountain of scrap. “Taro, is that you?” Startled, Taro staggered to his feet and climbed up the debris, shouting back, “Hana, where are you?”
Taro frantically dug through the junk until he finally uncovered a female anatomical model missing her arms and legs, named Hana.
As he cradled her in his arms, Hana asked, “Why would you risk your life to come here?”
Taro answered with absolute conviction, “Because I love you!”
Hana, Okarun, and Jiji were stunned to witness this dramatic, romantic scene unfold before them.
Taro confessed that his life had changed the moment he met her; his gray world was now full of color. However, Hana rejected him, arguing that they were models manufactured in entirely different years—their worlds were just too far apart. Declaring that her purpose had been fulfilled, Hana urged Taro to leave before he, too, was discarded as garbage.
But Taro fiercely refused. He declared that if he did nothing now, he would regret it for the rest of his life. Swearing never to let her go, he pleaded with Hana to run away with him.
Hearing this, Okarun was left speechless, goosebumps rising on his skin. It was as if Taro’s passionate words were the exact answer to the dilemma he was facing in his own heart.
