Qiuqa put together 13 key points after watching Ninja Kamui Episode 9.
1. The Duck Alliance’s Preparation
Mike wonders why Emma still reveres Auza despite knowing its corruption. Although Emma agrees with Mike that Auza is purely evil for creating cyber-ninjas as weapons to eliminate anyone standing in its way, she explains that the corporation possesses the most cutting-edge technology and immense research funding. In her eyes, if one sets aside Auza’s dark ambitions, its technological advancements could benefit all of humanity.
Meanwhile, Jason is frustrated over being excluded from the ninja robot development during his tenure at Auza. Emma then announces her plan to the “Duck Alliance.” She and Higan will infiltrate an active Auza power plant, shut down its operations, and steal the necessary energy supply. She also grants the alliance full access to her computer systems.
Annoyed when Mike teases her about dating Higan, Emma kicks him, sending him crashing to the ground in pain. Unbeknownst to the Duck Alliance, a tracking device has been secretly attached to the back of Emma’s truck.
2. Master Yamaji & Joseph’s Conflict
Joseph holds a virtual meeting with Master Yamaji via hologram. He complains about Big D’s actions, furious that Big D allowed Higan to escape after destroying the system reactor. Yamaji defends Big D, calling it the tactically sound choice when facing Higan without his Gusoku Gear. Yamaji emphasizes that Big D did his job well by successfully securing the necessary combat data.
Joseph, however, dismisses this view entirely. He is dissatisfied with Yamaji’s performance as the ninja leader and his inability to rein in his subordinates. Joseph demands that Yamaji accelerate their timeline; he has already suffered financial losses due to Big D’s incompetence, which led to the deaths of his advisory committee members.
Joseph asserts that he is orchestrating a takeover of the world, intending to turn it into his personal playground. Claiming absolute control over humanity, nature, and all living things, Joseph threatens to kill Yamaji if he continues to interfere.
Yamaji calmly retorts that a ninja’s true purpose is to seek out the most wicked people in the world—like Joseph—and eliminate them. He warns Joseph not to lose sight of their grander objective for the sake of petty personal ambitions.
Enraged by the threat, Joseph stands up, gets in Yamaji’s face, and glares. He fires back, threatening to rip Big D’s stomach open if the next plan fails. After Joseph’s hologram vanishes, Yamaji mutters that Joseph is just a foolish boy who doesn’t understand the difference between a ninja and a samurai.
Taking a sip of his tea, Yamaji calls out to Zai in the other room, telling him the time is drawing near. In the adjacent room, Zai is seen meditating, tightly gripping his sword.
3. The Gusoku Gear Guide & Alliance Bonding
Emma teaches Higan how to operate and maintain his Gusoku Gear. She explains that the Izuna system is the heart of the armor, comparing it to a woman’s heart—highly sensitive and fragile. She advises Higan not to treat the Gusoku Gear like riding a motorcycle, as that will only upset the Izuna.
She tells Higan to treat Izuna the way he treated Mari, to ensure she is always happy. However, Emma is taken aback when Higan bluntly admits he usually just made Mari mad.
Higan then asks Emma to stop getting involved in his mess, urging her to go hide somewhere safe. Emma wonders out loud why old guys always try to act so cool. Mike chimes in, explaining that partners are like family, and family looks out for one another’s safety.
Ultimately, Emma decides to stick with Higan and help Mike. Acknowledging Jason’s hacking skills, she believes they can all work together, even if she finds Jason’s personality a bit strange.
Later, Jason brings them food, completely ignoring Emma’s judgment of him. The Duck Alliance is impressed by Jason’s excellent cooking. Jason explains he is honoring a time-honored tradition among gangsters, the mafia, and the yakuza: breaking bread together when forging an alliance.
Mike complains about his small portion, but Jason retorts that Mike hasn’t contributed much to the group. As they share the meal, Emma falls deep into thought, finally beginning to understand the concept of “family” that Mike and Mari had always emphasized.
4. Joseph Meets with the Secretary of Energy
Joseph holds a video conference with Udin, the Secretary of Energy.
Joseph claims the explosion at the Auza Power Plant was an act of sabotage by individuals aware of their operational tests, adding that he has already deployed the FBI to hunt down the culprits. When Udin proposes visiting the site to personally verify the damage, Joseph flatly refuses, citing fears of corporate espionage and technology theft. Joseph insists the test data he provided is sufficient proof.
Udin then accuses Joseph of violently coercing the advisory committee members into accepting bribes. He also criticizes Joseph for failing to control the negative public rumors surrounding Auza. Refusing to be called a coward, Udin argues that the advisory committee has done plenty to help Joseph realize his dreams. Enraged, Joseph curses Udin, declaring that he is the one who made the committee’s dreams come true.
After the call disconnects, Dilly gently chides Joseph for losing his temper. Joseph admits his flaw, expressing his deep frustration at both the committee and himself. He then orders Dilly to call Big D.
When Big D rejects the call, Joseph’s anger spikes. Dilly offers herself as an outlet for his rage, but Joseph instead demands she take responsibility after work, saying he just wants to go for a drive.
5. Big D Gets a Haircut
At the salon, Dayat asks Big D if it’s really wise to decline Joseph’s call. Staring at a GPS screen tracking Higan’s location, Big D replies that he already knows what his boss wants and what needs to be done.
Big D then shares his life philosophy: “Elegance is the key to happiness. Without elegance, neither life nor combat has any meaning.” Dayat hopes Joseph will understand, but Big D is certain that is impossible.
Afterward, Big D admires his fresh haircut, highly satisfied with Dayat’s work. He then receives a call from Auza confirming that the maintenance on his Gusoku Gear is complete. Fired up, Big D heads out for his mission.
6. Joseph Inspects the Gusoku Gears
Joseph greets Zai as he walks toward the Auza Gusoku Gear lab. Joseph remarks that if he were Yamaji, he would let Zai handle Higan immediately. Zai enters the room and asks why Joseph is visiting.
A researcher explains that this is the first time Joseph has personally inspected the maintenance status of Big D’s Gusoku Gear. Zai then asks about the progress of his own armor. The researcher confirms that Zai’s Gusoku Gear is 92 percent complete.
7. Mike’s Request to Higan
Mike approaches Higan. They discuss Emma, both admitting their surprise upon learning she is actually a kunoichi.
Mike asks Higan to keep Emma safe. However, Higan states that his sole focus is destroying Auza so that the ninjas under its control can be freed from their duties. He tasks Mike with guiding Emma once Auza is finally destroyed.
8. Emma & Jason Hack the Auza Servers
From inside the vehicle, Emma and Jason work to hack into Auza’s servers. Their goal is to download operational reactor data stored on the mainframe. These reports contain proof that Auza has been supplying new weapons to meddle in foreign conflicts, along with blackmail material intended to control American officials.
Jason is stunned to discover that Auza’s mainframe relies on an independent satellite constellation—the very system he built, which ultimately got him fired.
Cursing Auza, Jason vows to take back his satellites. Emma is surprised by Jason’s sudden fiery passion, realizing that pure spite is fueling his motivation.
After successfully extracting the data of all secret accounts within Auza’s banking network, Jason gleefully digs deeper into the corporation’s dirty secrets to expose them to the public. He is convinced this leak will give every high-ranking official in America—including the President—a heart attack.
9. Emma & Mike’s Tactical Teamwork
Big D arrives alone at the Duck Alliance’s location. He tells Higan to put on his Gusoku Gear immediately. Mike asks to borrow some modern weapons from Emma’s truck, ordering her to stay safely inside the vehicle. Higan and Big D prepare to clash. Higan decapitates two of Big D’s robotic centipedes, then braces himself as the machines merge with Big D, transforming into a giant mechanical drill.
Their duel is suddenly interrupted. Frustrated, Big D realizes Joseph has sent a military squad to surround the alliance. The soldiers open fire on the vehicle holding Emma and Jason. Emma quickly takes control of three drones to shield the car, buying Jason time to continue his hack. After firing a missile at the soldiers, Mike is pinned down, desperately dodging a hail of bullets.
Emma leaves the hacking entirely to Jason, instructing him to copy Auza’s data to a hard drive. She then hurls a fire extinguisher at three soldiers advancing on Mike. Shooting the canister, she creates a massive smokescreen that blinds the squad. Moving with lethal speed, Emma guns them all down. When she approaches Mike, he scolds her for disobeying his orders. Meanwhile, Jason successfully breaches Auza’s mainframe.
Suddenly, Mike goes down, hit by a sniper positioned on a rooftop. Emma panics, fearing he is dead, but Mike’s bulletproof vest saves him. He jokes that Emma’s kick hurt worse than the sniper round. Working together, Mike and Emma return fire. Mike blindly tosses a grenade, and Emma throws a kunai that detonates it mid-air, eliminating the sniper.
After gunning down several more soldiers, Emma is nearly killed when a soldier presses a rifle to her head. Fortunately, Mike shoots the soldier just in time, saving her life.
10. Higan Defeats Big D
Higan and Big D’s battle resumes.
Higan deflects every laser blast Big D fires, then swats away another attack from the robotic centipedes. Higan transforms his dual swords—each now sporting four blades, resembling windmill propellers. Big D evades Higan’s first thrown windmill blade. He kicks away the second blade and follows up with a heavy strike that sends Higan flying.
Big D lands a kick to Higan’s head, forcing him to stagger backward. Higan swiftly dodges the follow-up strike and kicks his own sword lying on the ground. The windmill blade spins into the air, and Higan kicks it with pinpoint accuracy, driving it straight through Big D’s chest. Big D’s robotic helmet shatters, and he coughs up blood. Despite his fatal wound, Big D expresses his profound satisfaction at fighting an elegant battle against Higan in his final moments.
11. Big D’s Tragic End
Emma rushes over as Higan prepares to execute Big D. She denies Big D’s accusation that she betrayed Auza, declaring that she never considered herself on Auza’s side to begin with. Big D realizes his friendship with Emma was entirely fake. Suddenly, Big D’s Gusoku Gear begins to glow; he realizes Joseph rigged his suit with an automatic self-destruct sequence in the event of his defeat.
Out of respect for Higan’s victory, Big D commands his centipede robots to shield Higan’s body. Simultaneously, Emma taps her smartwatch, ordering her three drones to block Mike from running toward her. Big D’s Gusoku Gear detonates in a massive, fiery explosion. Big D is instantly reduced to ash, and Emma is left lying critically wounded on the ground. Surviving the blast, Higan, Mike, and Jason sprint toward her.
12. Emma’s Funeral & Higan’s Vow
The holographic disguise on Emma’s face slowly fades, revealing her true features. She is surprised when Mike says he will always recognize her, no matter how many times her face changes. As a seasoned investigator, Mike promises to teach her how.
Jason frantically calls for an ambulance while Higan and Mike beg Emma to hold on. With her final breaths, Emma softly sings the lyrics to “Bitter Sweet,” the song Mike once sang. She remembers Mike’s habit of always picking up her misplaced dolls. In her mind’s eye, she sees herself as a little girl hugging a doll, and as a grown woman watching Mike sing.
At Emma’s funeral, Mike places her favorite doll on top of her casket. He shares memories of Emma with Jason and Higan. Mike admits his frustration over Emma’s final words, angry that she believed she was dying alone. He is consumed with guilt for never getting the chance to tell her that, when he was with her, he felt the presence of his late daughter. Emma had always reminded him of the child he lost.
Higan assures Mike that Emma undoubtedly knew how he felt, noting that he had never seen a ninja die with such a peaceful expression. Higan then lights the fire to cremate Emma’s body. With a ferocious glare, Higan swears a blood oath to destroy Auza.
13. The Auza Office
At Auza headquarters, Zai and Master Yamaji watch the broadcast of Higan and Big D’s battle from start to finish. Joseph is enraged that Big D thwarted his plan to blow up the entire Duck Alliance, resulting in only Emma’s death. Dilly is shocked to learn Joseph orchestrated the explosion. Meanwhile, Zai stares enthusiastically at his newly completed Gusoku Gear, now at 100 percent.
