Qiuqa put together 8 key points after watching Ninja Kamui Episode 4.
1. A Mysterious Figure Calls Higan
Higan is startled to receive a phone call from someone reciting a ninja proverb: “To study others without revealing one’s identity is the true essence of ninja ingenuity.” The caller tells Higan not to worry, assuring him the line cannot be tapped.
Though the individual refuses to reveal their identity, they claim to be on Higan’s side. The caller knows Higan is heading to Auza City and promises to help him breach the city’s security system.
2. Mike’s Motivation to Fight Crime
From his hospital bed, Mike stares at a piece of paper bearing a drawing by his late daughter. The drawing reads, “I love Daddy because he protects everyone from bad guys.” Mike’s mind drifts to the past—a moment when he ignored a phone call from his wife because he was too busy with an investigation.
The very next day, he received the devastating news from his wife that their daughter had died. Mike visited his lifeless daughter and kept that drawing as a lifelong memento.
3. Emma, Mike, and Higan’s Discussion
Higan meets with Emma and Mike. He explains to Mike why he trusts the mysterious figure offering to help him enter Auza City. According to Higan, the caller knows a ninja proverb passed down by the old organization—something the new regime is entirely unaware of. Based on her own research, Emma confirms the mysterious figure’s claim: Auza City’s security system is impossible to breach without an insider guiding the way.
Emma reports dark web intel indicating that Auza plans to build a weapon of mass destruction to conquer the world. Mike is highly impressed with Emma’s work; she successfully tracked the location of the website’s admin, who turns out to be a former Auza researcher. However, Emma is annoyed because Mike forbids her from joining the field investigation. For her, exposing Auza’s dirty secrets and selling millions of dollars’ worth of leaked data is an incredibly tempting prospect.
Mike then asks Higan, “Is it normal for a ninja to have a family?” Higan replies that his wife was also a ninja. He reveals that they both violated the ninja code of conduct, which requires them to suppress all emotions, even toward their comrades. Consequently, Higan and Mari chose to become exiles so they could marry and start a family.
4. The Auza and Ninja Organization Meeting
Joseph, Master Yamaji, Dilly, Big D, Aska, and Lil attend a joint meeting between Auza and the ninja organization. Joseph emphasizes that, as a businessman, he doesn’t need battles or victories; he needs data. He is amazed by tales of Higan’s prowess—defeating an entire ninja squad single-handedly, especially when a single squad can wipe out a military platoon. Joseph assumes Higan will inevitably come to Auza City, but Aska assures him that Higan could never breach the city’s security.
Shortly after, Master Yamaji uses a Shadow Control Jutsu to choke Lil, punishing her for boasting too much during the meeting. Yamaji states that Higan cannot be underestimated; they must remain focused on their plan to uncover his secret jutsu. Yamaji considers Higan’s FBI ally a non-issue, claiming he can dispose of him easily. He asks his associates not to overcomplicate things or create unnecessary problems. Joseph agrees with Yamaji’s assessment.
After the meeting adjourns, Joseph tells Dilly he is eager to test the ninjas’ strength to gather data for Auza’s prototype weapons. Meanwhile, Zai tells Master Yamaji that if given the order, he could eliminate Higan immediately. However, Yamaji forbids Zai from fighting Higan, having already dispatched someone else to uncover Higan’s secret jutsu. Master Yamaji tells Zai that neither of them needs to get involved until the task is complete.
5. A Past as a Ninja
Riding his motorcycle down the street, Higan reminisces about his past as a ninja. Back then, Higan, Zai, and Mari were part of a team tasked with eliminating a mafia boss’s guards. Afterward, they assassinated the boss himself while he was relaxing with several women. They then successfully completed their mission to retrieve classified state documents kept by the crime lord.
As a reward for the three nameless ninjas’ success, the ninja elder bestowed names upon Higan, Mari, and Zai. The elder also imparted a unique, secret jutsu to each of them, strictly forbidding them from revealing it to anyone. The elder warned that their future missions would only grow harder, but as the organization’s finest ninjas, they were trusted to become its future leaders.
Higan, Mari, and Zai gathered in a room to discuss their new names. Zai brought out some sake so they could properly celebrate the occasion. Higan warned Zai not to get careless and drunkenly reveal his secret jutsu.
Zai confidently assured him he wouldn’t, noting that one day, he might have to fight Higan. Pouring the sake, Zai declared that their bond was thicker than blood, and drinking together was a pact of their readiness to risk their lives for the mission. The three of them toasted and drank.
On a subsequent mission, Higan, Mari, and Zai infiltrated a target’s home. They successfully eliminated several guards and the boss. However, Mari couldn’t bring herself to attack the boss’s wife and child hiding in a closet. As a result, the wife shot Mari with a pistol.
Higan quickly killed the wife and carried Mari off into a forest to heal her. Mari attempted suicide, not wanting to burden Higan and jeopardize the mission, but Higan managed to stop her. Higan confessed his love to Mari, and they gave in to their feelings. Later, Zai caught them embracing.
6. Guide to Infiltrating Auza City
The mysterious figure calls Higan to explain the mechanics of Auza City’s security. Advanced AI technology scans everyone entering the city; anyone without authorization is detected instantly. The airspace is heavily guarded by an electromagnetic shield that only wind and rain can pass through.
Therefore, Higan must enter the city through the underground tunnels and infiltrate carefully. He must evade security cameras, laser traps, and military patrols. Once he navigates these hazards, the mysterious figure will open a laser gate, allowing Higan access to Auza City.
7. Mike and Emma’s Farewell
Mike receives a call from Eddie. Eddie warns him that if he insists on obsessing over the ninja case, he must do it alone and leave Emma out of it. Emma apologizes to Mike for no longer being able to help him investigate. Mike tells her not to worry, acknowledging that the case is far too dangerous for her anyway. After Mike treats Emma to a coffee at a cafe, she hands him a photo of Jason, the former Auza researcher Mike intends to meet. Mike is surprised by Emma’s caring demeanor; she tells him to take care of his health because she still wants to learn a lot from him.
8. Higan’s Infiltration into Auza City
The mysterious figure hacks all the security cameras, securing an 8-minute window. They then guide Higan into Auza City through the tunnel network. Thanks to his agility, Higan successfully slips past the guards undetected and navigates the laser traps. Unfortunately, a single drop of his sweat hits a laser beam, triggering the intruder alarm.
Higan narrowly dodges a hail of bullets and brawls his way through the soldiers trying to capture him. The mysterious figure cuts the power, giving Higan a five-second window to slip through the laser gate. However, Zai suddenly appears, striking Higan and forcing him back.
