1. Shin & Shaotang’s Argument
Sakamoto holds a camera, snapping photos of Hana actively participating in her “Bring Your Parents to School” day. Meanwhile, Aoi is thrilled to be there with the other parents, though she wonders if Shin and Shaotang can manage the convenience store properly. Sakamoto reassures her not to worry.
Back at the store, Shin scolds Shaotang for using his apron without permission while doing the dirty cleaning chores. He declares that in Aoi and Sakamoto’s absence, he is automatically in charge. Annoyed after reading Shaotang’s mind—who silently calls him childish—Shin tells her to say it to his face. Shaotang fires back, calling him a weirdo for reading people’s minds without permission.
Mashimo walks in, claiming he’s back to scavenge for leftover meat buns. However, entirely engrossed in their argument, Shin and Shaotang throw meat buns at each other and hurl insults, completely ignoring him. Fueled by anger, Shaotang admits she has no peace of mind because Shin is always reading the thoughts of everyone around him. Shin falls silent, looking genuinely hurt, and apologizes before turning and leaving the store.
Mashimo asks Shaotang if she is going to chase after him. Shaotang replies that she doesn’t care. Mashimo then asks for permission to pick up the meat buns she threw at Shin, which are now scattered on the floor. Shaotang tells him to take them and leave immediately.
2. Shaotang is Kidnapped
Alone in the store, Shaotang is left deep in thought. She realizes it is the first time she has ever seen Shin look so sad.
Hearing the door chime, Shaotang assumes Shin has returned, even deciding she will forgive him if he apologizes. However, the visitors aren’t Shin, but four people in hazmat suits. Seeing “Shin” written on Shaotang’s apron, they immediately demand she come with them.
Kidnapped, Shaotang finds herself bound with rope and gagged with duct tape in the back of a cargo van. The four hazmat-suited men sit around her. Up front, Seba is driving, with Tanaka in the passenger seat.
Tanaka can hardly believe that the experimental subject who vanished from the lab eleven years ago is now living a laid-back life as a convenience store cashier. Looking at a childhood photo of Shin, he is surprised that the subject’s hair color changed during adolescence. Seba tells Tanaka they likely kidnapped the wrong person. Tanaka vehemently denies this, arguing that the name “Shin” was clearly written on their captive’s apron.
He explains that they targeted Shin because he is the only test subject capable of telepathy. Glaring at Shaotang—whom he believes is Shin—Tanaka declares that such a terrifying ability must make him a miserable outcast that no one would ever want to be around.
Infuriated by Tanaka’s cruel words, Shaotang lunges at his face. She fiercely defends Shin, declaring that even though he is different, he is far from miserable. Shocked, Tanaka finally realizes their captive is Shaotang, not Shin. Seba dryly notes that his suspicion was right—Tanaka definitely grabbed the wrong person.
3. Sakamoto Tracks Shaotang’s Location
Shin walks back to the store, his anger having cooled. Ready to be the bigger person, he enters and announces he will forgive Shaotang if she apologizes. Instead, he is shocked to find the store empty, with shattered glass scattered across the floor.
Shortly after, Aoi, Hana, and Sakamoto return. After hearing Shin’s account of Shaotang’s disappearance, Sakamoto checks his phone and pinpoints her location on the southwest toll road. Shin is stunned to learn that Sakamoto secretly installed GPS trackers in their employee name tags.
Meanwhile, Shaotang is drowning in guilt, believing she is suffering karmic retribution for her harsh words to Shin. Acknowledging that Shin can’t help reading minds, she desperately wants to apologize.
4. Highway Battle
Inside the van, Seba checks his rearview mirror and spots a motorcycle soaring through the air with two men on it. Shaotang is deeply moved to see Shin and Sakamoto riding in pursuit of her kidnappers.
Comparing the rider to the childhood photo, Tanaka is certain that Sakamoto’s passenger is the real Shin. He sighs in relief, realizing they won’t be punished by their boss for botching the kidnapping. Shin spots the hazmat suits inside the van and instantly recognizes them as uniforms from the Okutabi Laboratory—an unofficial government research facility and the very place he was raised.
Moments later, a box truck unloads three hazmat-suited men on motorcycles. They speed down the highway to intercept Sakamoto and Shin.
A fierce highway battle ensues. The first enemy thrusts a stun baton at Sakamoto, who easily dodges it. Sakamoto retaliates with a heavy kick to the enemy’s bike, slamming it against the toll wall and wiping out the rider.
Meanwhile, Shin leaps into the bed of a passing pickup truck, politely asks permission to take a piece of scrap wood, and hurls it directly into the spokes of the second enemy’s motorcycle, causing him to crash. Launching his own bike into the air, Sakamoto slams his rear tire squarely into the third enemy’s face, instantly knocking him out.
5. Seba
Sensing Shin landing on the roof of the van, Seba immediately tells Tanaka to take the wheel. He strips off his hazmat suit, revealing a striking, cool appearance beneath.
Shin prepares for a fight, but before he can strike, he is stunned as Seba abruptly vanishes, turning completely invisible. Out of nowhere, a brutal kick strikes Shin, knocking him off the van and sending him crashing onto the roof of another car on the highway.
Seba doesn’t stop there. He leaps and lands directly on the handlebars of Sakamoto’s moving motorcycle. Even with his opponent cloaked in invisibility, Sakamoto expertly blocks his incoming punch. Impressed, Seba praises Sakamoto’s sharp instincts.
Wasting no time, Sakamoto lunges and grabs Seba by the throat. However, Seba swiftly draws a knife and punctures Sakamoto’s gas tank. Seconds later, the motorcycle erupts in an explosion.
Landing gracefully back on the van’s roof, Seba remarks to Tanaka that Sakamoto truly is a phenomenal, legendary hitman, admitting he feared for his life engaging him. A curious Tanaka asks if Seba managed to capture Shin. Seba casually replies that he forgot to. Hearing this, a frustrated Tanaka begins to sulk.
Despite being at the epicenter of the blast, Sakamoto survives unscathed, having bailed out just in time. He now sits on the shoulder of the highway beside Shin, calmly watching his motorcycle burn.
6. Okutabi Museum
Shin and Sakamoto eventually arrive at the Okutabi Museum. Shin explains that the actual laboratory is located underground, and the museum acts as a clever front to avoid suspicion. Upon entering, the two buy dinosaur-shaped headgear and even hire the museum photographer to take pictures of them roaring in dinosaur poses.
Meanwhile, Tanaka and Seba transport Shaotang on a utility cart. Kashima, a man wearing a deer mask, asks if she is the esper child. Tanaka awkwardly answers “yes,” though he internally doubts it, given her hair color and gender don’t match Shin’s childhood photo. Seba then interrupts, informing Kashima that they actually kidnapped Shaotang, not Shin, but claims he knows exactly where the real Shin is.
Stunned by Seba exposing his lie, Tanaka is quickly tied up alongside Shaotang and carted away by two hazmat-suited men. Kashima turns to Seba, emphasizing that they must capture Shin to fulfill their boss’s expectations, and trusts Seba to get the job done.
7. Sakamoto vs. The Dinosaur Fossil
Shin and Sakamoto reach the access room leading to the underground lab. However, when Shin enters the wrong password for the elevator, the system flags them as intruders. Instantly, two mechanical bear mascots spring to life and attack.
Sakamoto swiftly neutralizes the brown bear with a devastating knee strike to the chin, while Shin hurls a spear directly into the white bear’s head, shutting it down.
Following that, a massive dinosaur fossil suddenly animates and confronts Sakamoto. Initially, he tries to spare it, hoping to show it to Hana later. But when the fossil rampages and its tail smashes Sakamoto’s stun gun, he loses his patience. In a fit of annoyance, Sakamoto pulverizes the dinosaur skeleton into pieces.
Dusting himself off, Sakamoto casually remarks to Shin, “Dinosaurs are much more impressive when they don’t move.”
8. Kashima’s Goal
Down in the lab, the scientists feel the violent tremors from Sakamoto’s brawl with the fossil. A hazmat guard named Dadang scolds a zoning-out scientist, Ishikawa. Ishikawa begs for a break, complaining that they have been forced to work for three days straight without sleep.
Without warning, Dadang kicks Ishikawa in the stomach, knocking him to the floor. Gasping for air, Ishikawa asks, “Do you really think this research will work?”
Dadang levels his gun at Ishikawa. “Don’t speak as if it’s impossible,” he says coldly. Before he can pull the trigger, Sakamoto and Shin materialize behind him. Sakamoto effortlessly snatches the gun, while Shin twists Dadang’s neck, knocking him unconscious.
The gathered scientists are both shocked and relieved to see Shin after so many years. Shin immediately asks what is going on and demands the whereabouts of their head scientist, Asakura. Ishikawa explains that Asakura is imprisoned on the bottom floor, and that a rogue assassin syndicate hijacked their lab about a year ago. Shin is stunned by the revelation.
A flashback reveals Kashima, the deer-masked leader, arriving a year ago with his hazmat squadron. Deeming guns and knives outdated, Kashima announced his vision to create advanced, next-generation assassination tools. By exploiting the scientists’ intellect and cutting-edge technology, he planned to engineer deadly new weapons.
Shin and Sakamoto now realize that searching the lab for Shaotang means plunging into an inevitable war with Kashima’s forces. A panicked Ishikawa urges them to flee. “It’s not just Kashima—there are other high-ranking executives here who are extremely skilled fighters!” he warns.
Suddenly, Ishikawa’s eyes widen as he spots Horiguchi, one of those elite executives, approaching the lab. Without a second thought, Ishikawa and his colleagues urgently shove Shin and Sakamoto into a nearby locker to hide.
9. Sakamoto Beats Down Horiguchi
Inside the holding cells, Tanaka screams, refusing to become a guinea pig and begging for his release. He then stares in bewilderment as Shaotang furiously taps a small rock against the cell bars in a desperate bid to escape. Asakura, bound in heavy iron chains, agrees with Tanaka and tells Shaotang to stop. He then asks if the two of them want to join his escape plan.
Meanwhile, Horiguchi—a man bearing six syringes on his shoulder and clutching a mechanical switch—interrogates the scientists while sipping a drink. He demands to know if they are hiding something. When Ishikawa denies it, Horiguchi refuses to believe him. He violently jams a pen into Ishikawa’s hand, accusing him of lying after discovering the unconscious Dadang.
Suddenly, another pen rockets through the air, snapping the one in Horiguchi’s grip. Horiguchi smirks, his suspicions confirmed. The scientists watch in terror as Shin steps out of hiding.
Shin asks if Horiguchi is one of the syndicate’s executives. Horiguchi confirms it, swearing he won’t let Shin ruin their magnificent research. Eager to show off his life’s work, Horiguchi vanishes in a blur, reappears directly behind Shin, and injects something into his neck.
Horiguchi presses the switch in his hand, causing Shin’s speech to completely invert. If Shin tries to say “car,” it comes out as “rac.”
Horiguchi explains that the needle implanted a magnet into Shin’s neck. The magnetic field disrupts the electrical currents in his brain, scrambling his neural signals and throwing his cognitive functions into chaos.
Furious, Shin demands he reverse the effect. He tries to attack, but Horiguchi easily dodges the uncoordinated strikes. Just as Horiguchi is busy mocking Shin, Sakamoto steps in and delivers a crushing blow to his face. Horiguchi is sent flying, instantly knocked out cold.
10. Shishiba and Osaragi
Sakamoto tells Shin that while he doesn’t know the details of his past, he wants to know one thing: does Shin want to save the place where he was raised?
“Yes,” Shin answers firmly.
Sakamoto cracks his knuckles and stretches his fingers, ready for a real fight. “Alright, let’s clean up your childhood home,” he says. The words fill Shin with renewed determination.
Meanwhile, Order members Shishiba and Osaragi arrive at the Okutabi Museum. Osaragi hands Shishiba a chocolate bar and tells him to eat it. “There’s that good luck ritual of yours,” Shishiba comments.
Shishiba then asks, “Is it true the Okutabi Museum is connected to Slur’s syndicate? I still doubt Nagumo’s intel; his accuracy is rarely trustworthy.” Looking at his partner, Shishiba asks, “Are you ready to investigate?”
“Yes,” Osaragi replies simply.
