1. The Ninja Clan’s History & Betrayal
The scene opens with a speech from the clan leader. He declares that their martial arts must never be shared outside the clan or with foreigners, reminding them that their primary mission is to devote their bodies and souls to preserving the peace of Japan.
However, Master Yamaji assassinates the clan leader. He seizes control of the organization, intending to break away from the Japanese government and align the clan with a higher authority. Yamaji brands any member who opposes him as a traitor, sentencing them to execution.
2. The Old Doctor Heals Higan & Higan’s Next Plan
While expressing his condolences for the death of Higan’s family, the Old Doctor complains that Higan only ever visits him when he is severely injured. Higan then informs the doctor that the organization has found a way to bypass his face-changing system.
Spotting Higan’s blackened arm, the Old Doctor realizes Higan used a super-consciousness martial art to defeat the ninja squad. He forbids Higan from using it again due to the risk of death.
In fact, the Old Doctor is shocked that Higan is even alive after sustaining a stab wound to the back. He concludes that either Higan got incredibly lucky, or someone out there wants him kept alive. Higan reveals his plan to hunt down the enemies who slaughtered his family.
The Old Doctor then tells him that a full recovery will take five or six days. He injects a needle into Higan’s chest, and Higan instantly passes out.
3. Higan Avenges His Family
Higan suspends the Ninja Boss upside down in a room, hanging him by his feet. Over the course of several days, Higan repeatedly stabs the Ninja Boss from morning until night. After Higan douses him in gasoline, the Ninja Boss tells him that Kyle shivered in fear and Mari glared with sheer hatred during their executions. Higan curses the Ninja Boss and tosses a lit match. The flames engulf and incinerate the Ninja Boss’s body.
4. The FBI Halts the Ninja Investigation & Discovers Fake Identities
At the FBI field office, Eddie orders Mike to stop investigating Emma’s report about Joe being attacked by a ninja squad on the hospital roof. Eddie informs Mike that the blood spattered on the roof belongs to an unknown identity, and the security cameras captured nothing. Mike calls his superior a coward, but Eddie explains he simply doesn’t want to see Mike fired right before retirement.
Eddie also tells Mike to fall in line and shadow Emma, who is investigating another case. Mike later confronts Emma and scolds her, but she explains that feigning compliance is the rational choice. She then reveals the results of her investigation. Emma shows that Joe Logan, along with his wife and child, used fake names. The Logan family never truly existed, fitting the pattern of other victims assassinated by the ninja squad.
5. Higan Finds a Lead on the Ninja Organization
Higan rides his motorcycle to visit several suspected hideouts of the ninja organization, but every location turns out to be a dead end. Higan takes a break at a bar. Soon, two corrupt officers drop by and harass the bartender for coming up short on their extortion money.
The officers even accuse Higan of riding a stolen motorcycle. Higan easily takes down the first officer who tries to arrest him, then sends the second flying with a contactless strike. Spotting a police cruiser in the bar’s parking lot, Higan suddenly remembers Mike’s business card.
Meanwhile, at the FBI office, Emma uses the Auza Vision Pro to track criminals operating in the virtual world. Higan, realizing an FBI agent could help him locate the ninja headquarters, decides to call Mike.
As they discuss a meeting place, Mike secretly signals Emma to trace the call. However, Emma’s computer screen displays an error, failing to pinpoint Higan’s location.
6. Higan Meets Mike & Fights the Auza Ninjas
Before meeting Mike, Higan sweeps the location and devises a security protocol. When Higan meets Mike inside a restaurant, Ujang, the owner, leaves after reminding Mike to pay for anything that gets broken. Higan shows Mike the business card he had handed out, asking him to share even the smallest detail regarding the serial murders committed by the ninja squad. Instead, Mike draws his gun on Higan.
Mike attempts to interrogate him, but the process is repeatedly interrupted by an Auzafood delivery driver walking in and out to pick up orders. Suddenly, Higan throws a chair to block a surprise sickle attack from Auza Ninja 1. Higan then draws a single sword to duel the dual-sickle-wielding assassin.
Auza Ninja 1 deflects every bullet Mike fires. Higan then parries a sickle strike that nearly decapitates Mike, though the deflected blade still manages to graze the agent’s body.
Next, Auza Ninja 1 activates a jutsu, sprouting two extra arms from his back as he prepares to strike. The battle between Higan and Auza Ninja 1 is fierce and evenly matched. Both deflect each other’s attacks with extreme agility, neither managing to land a clean hit.
Higan then activates his own jutsu. Four additional arms emerge from his back, each gripping a sword. With this technique, Higan easily blocks the sickle strikes and even knocks Auza Ninja 1 back. However, Auza Ninja 2 leaps into the fray. Working in perfect synchronization, the two ninjas manage to push Higan back.
Auza Ninja 1 and 2 attack simultaneously, aiming to eliminate Mike. Moving swiftly, Higan pulls Mike to safety. Higan then grinds his swords together until they ignite, clashing fiercely against the two assassins. He unleashes a fire jutsu, engulfing both Auza Ninjas in flames.
Following up, Higan hurls a sword that cleanly decapitates Auza Ninja 1. The severed head, along with the blade, impales Auza Ninja 2 in the chest, sending him staggering backward. Wasting no time, Higan launches another sword, landing a fatal headshot on Auza Ninja 2.
7. Higan Reveals His Identity to Mike
Mike demands to know who Higan really is, confused as to how he possesses the business card meant for Joe. He asks Higan where Joe is. In response, Higan activates his face-changing system, shifting his appearance back to Joe. He explains to Mike that he is a ninja, just like the ones who attacked him at the hospital. Finally, it clicks for Mike: the serial murders are the result of ninjas hunting their own kind.
Suddenly, a squad of soldiers appears and opens fire on the restaurant, forcing Mike and Higan to take cover behind a table. After firing a rocket that causes a massive explosion inside the diner, the soldiers quickly flee in their vehicles. Higan reemerges on the roof of a nearby building, watching Mike, who is still down in the ruined restaurant. Mike looks around, searching for Higan, who has vanished without a trace.
8. Advanced Technology
Mike picks up one of the Auza Ninja’s sickles. He is baffled by how the blade managed to carve through his protective body armor. He marvels at the weapon, noting that it shows absolutely no scratches or signs of battle damage. He wonders what kind of genius could have created such incredible technology. Suddenly, Mike is startled by the sound of a video billboard broadcasting a commercial for the Auza Technology Corporation.
9. Zai & Master Yamaji
Meanwhile, Zai meets with Master Yamaji in his chambers. Zai reports that Higan is still alive. Yamaji is largely unfazed by the news, seemingly already well aware of just how formidable Higan truly is.
