Bachira realized Isagi was leveraging Chigiri’s speed to trap him in a 2-on-1 press. When Bachira looked to pass to Rin just outside the box, he saw Isagi tightly marking him. Bachira understood Isagi’s plan: force him to hesitate so Isagi could match Rin’s off-the-ball movements.
Determined to carve his own path, Bachira resolved to break through and deliver the pass. In his first duel with Chigiri, Bachira utilized an elastico dribble to slip past him. Shockingly, Isagi—who had just been marking Rin—suddenly materialized to block Bachira. After Bachira effortlessly bypassed Isagi’s defense, Barou came out of nowhere and stole the ball. Bachira realized he had fallen right into Isagi’s trap; Isagi had deliberately used himself as bait so Barou could swoop in.

When Chigiri threw the ball in to Isagi, Rin shadowed Isagi’s every step. Eager to join his two monsters, Bachira rushed in, but Isagi and Rin blew right past him, completely ignoring his presence. Bachira slipped between them, yet felt like a ghost leaving no trace.
Confused, Bachira began to question himself. He was no longer alone, and his dream of playing with monsters like Isagi and Rin had been realized, yet he felt entirely insignificant in their presence. Isagi and Rin were entirely absorbed in their duel, indifferent to him. A creeping fear took hold of Bachira—the terror of being left behind. To him, Isagi and Rin were monsters, but what did he mean to them? In that moment, Bachira realized he was being tested.
9. Isagi’s New Perspective
Shadowing Isagi closely, Rin successfully stole the ball, but Chigiri immediately launched a sliding tackle, knocking it out of bounds. Isagi apologized to Chigiri for failing to pass in time, but Chigiri felt the blame was his; if he had been faster, they would have recovered possession. Noticing Chigiri gasping for air, Isagi worried his knee injury was flaring up, but Chigiri admitted his stamina was simply hitting its limit.
Isagi realized he was only able to match Rin thanks to Chigiri’s high-speed pressing. However, Chigiri’s stamina for those explosive sprints was finite. As Isagi pondered this, the puzzle pieces forming his mind seemed to erode and scatter. He realized that everyone’s stamina was draining rapidly due to the match’s grueling intensity. As fatigue set in, the quality of passes and movements would inevitably drop.
When the puzzle pieces snapped back together, Isagi gained a new perspective: he concluded that whoever mastered these subtle shifts in stamina and performance would dominate the endgame.
10. Tokimitsu’s Super Stamina
Rin passed to Tokimitsu, who was instantly swarmed by Barou. Under heavy pressure, Tokimitsu passed it right back to Rin. Without hesitation, Rin returned the ball to a sprinting Tokimitsu, even with Barou still closely shadowing him. Tokimitsu passed it back to Rin again as Barou maintained his tight mark. Rin then fed the ball to Tokimitsu, who was now blocked by Chigiri while Barou chased from behind. Tokimitsu quickly returned it to Rin.
While Barou, Nagi, and Chigiri were entirely fixated on Rin, Rin executed a brilliant lobbed pass back to Tokimitsu, who broke through the line and found himself right in front of Team White’s goal. Isagi was stunned by the lightning-fast one-two combinations between Rin and Tokimitsu, which unfolded before Chigiri could press and before Isagi could even process a decision.
Looking closer, Isagi realized Rin’s passing technique was actually quite standard. The truly shocking element was Tokimitsu’s ability to react to every single pass without losing a fraction of his speed. Isagi suddenly realized Tokimitsu’s stamina was genuinely limitless. As Tokimitsu prepared to receive the lob, Chigiri tackled him from the side while Barou yanked him from behind, bringing him down. Anri immediately issued yellow cards to both Barou and Chigiri.
11. Rin’s Free Kick
Team Red was awarded a free kick, and Rin stepped up to take it. Nagi warned Isagi that the spot was well within Rin’s shooting range. Isagi and Chigiri formed a wall to block the shot. Isagi analyzed Rin’s options: a direct shot or a pass.
If Rin shot, Isagi and Chigiri were positioned to block it. But if Rin passed to the right, where Bachira or Aryu were stationed, Isagi planned to peel off and help Nagi defend that side.
Isagi intended to react based on the movement of Rin’s foot—whether it signaled a shot or a pass. If he committed to jumping for a block, he wouldn’t be able to help Nagi if Rin passed instead. Ultimately, Rin struck the ball with vicious vertical spin, sending it dipping perfectly right over Isagi’s head to score for Team Red. The score was now 4-3 in favor of Team Red.
Rin taunted Isagi: “You hesitated, wondering if I’d pass or shoot, didn’t you?” He called Isagi’s observation skills pathetic, asserting he only ever had one option: scoring the goal himself.
Watching this, a realization hit Bachira. He saw that both Rin and Isagi found their joy in soccer by scoring goals that satisfied their own immense egos. Bachira then asked himself: “What is my true purpose in playing soccer? Is it to find a real monster, or to make a friend?”
Finally, Bachira understood that continuing to play simply to find a monster or a friend who catered to his ideal vision of soccer would never elevate him to the level of Rin and Isagi.
