1. The Wanima Brothers Mock Isagi Yoichi’s Dribbling
Bachira passes the ball to Isagi to restart the play. Isagi drives the ball forward, fiercely determined to equalize the score, but the Wanima brothers closely shadow his every move. Keisuke taunts Isagi, revealing that Kuon has already leaked all of Team Z’s weapons, tactics, and individual profiles to Team W.
The brothers know all about Isagi’s exceptional “Spatial Awareness.” However, they also know that when isolated with the ball, Isagi is a fool who poses no real threat due to his weak individual skills in one-on-one situations.
Kuon casually approaches Isagi and tells him to just give up. He reminds Isagi that soccer is an 11-on-11 sport; at 12-on-10, Team Z has absolutely zero chance of winning. Without breaking a sweat, Kuon steals the ball right off Isagi’s feet.
2. Lemon Saves Team Z’s Goal
Kuon actively plays support for the Wanima brothers, linking up in a rapid series of one-two passes that tear right through Team Z’s scrambling defense. The play leaves Junichi one-on-one with Team Z’s goalkeeper, Lemon. Junichi takes the shot, but Lemon makes a desperate, brilliant save to parry the ball away.

Meanwhile, Kunigami and Raichi successfully dismantle the Wanima brothers’ one-two passing combination. Acting as dual center-backs, they execute a synchronized double tackle, stripping the ball from Junichi and instantly killing the attack.
Imamura recovers the ball and immediately passes it to Isagi. However, Isagi struggles to find any cracks in Team W’s heavily fortified defense. He scans the field: Bachira is heavily marked, Kunigami has no space to shoot, and lobbing a pass to Gagamaru in the penalty box is too risky, as he is outnumbered and a turnover would spark a lethal counterattack. Frustration boils over; Isagi simply cannot “smell” a goal anywhere on the pitch.
Kuon jogs up to Isagi and taunts him, mocking him for still trying to figure out a way to win. He tells Isagi to stop being so naive; no matter how hard he tries, the result is set in stone the moment the clock runs out.

Using his dribbling, Isagi manages to break past both Kuon and Keisuke. Having severely underestimated him, the two are visibly shocked that he slipped through. However, the triumph is short-lived. In a flash, Junichi levels Isagi with a brutal tackle, sending him crashing to the turf and stripping the ball away. The failure is a crushing blow to Isagi. Keisuke bursts into laughter, mercilessly mocking Isagi’s pathetic dribbling skills.
Raichi and Igaguri furiously scold Isagi for his reckless, selfish play, screaming that he needs to stop playing hero and work with the team. Panic thoroughly grips Team Z as the final seconds tick away. They press frantically to win back possession, while Team W tightly defends to run down the clock.
Miraculously, Isagi manages to steal the ball back from a Team W player and passes it back to Chigiri, who is playing center-back. But then, in a shocking move, Isagi steals the ball back from Chigiri. Ignoring the desperate screams of his teammates begging for a pass, Isagi resumes his solo dribble, dead-set on piercing Team W’s goal himself.
6. Isagi Yoichi Smells a Goal
Isagi’s relentless, almost mad desperation to score slowly begins to reawaken Chigiri’s dormant identity. Chigiri feels a violent tremble run through his body as he watches Isagi’s fierce, beast-like gaze and unwavering determination to seize victory. Chigiri is suddenly startled by his own internal conflict; if Team Z loses right now, he will finally have his excuse to quit soccer and live a peaceful life.
Yet, looking at Isagi, Chigiri realizes why he’s trembling: Isagi looks exactly like the old him—the boy who firmly believed he would conquer the world and treated soccer as his very lifeblood. In that profound moment, Chigiri realizes that all his fears are utterly meaningless. He no longer cares if his right leg shatters into pieces. The only thing that matters is the roaring fire reignited in his chest by Isagi’s passion. Fueled by a reborn desire to become the world’s greatest striker, Chigiri shatters the iron chains binding his legs.
Up ahead, Junichi successfully tackles the ball away from Isagi. The ball rolls dangerously toward the touchline, threatening to end the match if it goes out of bounds. Throwing his body on the line, Isagi barely saves it, yet he still refuses to pass to the teammates around him. Meanwhile, from deep within Team Z’s defensive half, Chigiri breaks into an all-out sprint, rushing forward to join the final attack.
Suddenly, Isagi’s weapon activates—he smells a goal. He knows with absolute certainty that Chigiri will get there. Overflowing with confidence, Isagi launches a massive long pass down the pitch into open space. Neither Team Z nor Team W realizes the pass is meant for Chigiri; everyone assumes Isagi just made a terrible, reckless mistake. Kuon immediately moves to kick the ball out of bounds and end the game. But with explosive, god-like speed, Chigiri intercepts the pass, snatching the ball away just milliseconds before Kuon’s foot can connect.
7. Chigiri Hyoma’s Solo Run
Chigiri embarks on a blistering solo run. His sheer velocity leaves both allies and enemies in absolute awe. The Wanima brothers, his former high school teammates, are entirely dumbfounded to see the resurrection of the uncatchable speed they thought was gone forever.
When the Wanima brothers move to block him, Chigiri simply kicks the ball far ahead into open space and challenges them to a footrace. He effortlessly leaps over a dirty tackle from Junichi and blows right past Keisuke, who loses his balance and falls to the grass. Utilizing his devastating speed, Chigiri reaches the ball a split second before the charging goalkeeper can grab it. He gracefully chips his own pass over the keeper’s head.
With that breathtaking play, Chigiri scores Team Z’s fourth goal. The whistle blows, ending the grueling match in a dramatic 4-4 draw.
8. Chigiri Hyoma Thanks Isagi Yoichi
Isagi runs up to Chigiri, completely blown away by his incredible speed. Chigiri responds that it only happened because Isagi reignited his passion for soccer, making his body move entirely on its own. He sincerely thanks Isagi.
Chigiri acknowledges that the invincible boy he was before the injury is dead and gone. However, he wants to dream one more time of standing at the pinnacle of the world. Even though he knows his injury could flare up and permanently end his career, Chigiri vows to keep running until his legs completely shatter and his passion burns out.
The rest of Team Z swarms Chigiri, praising his phenomenal weapon and celebrating the equalizer that saved them from First Selection elimination. Kunigami points out that this draw is massive; it gives them a fighting chance to advance to the Second Selection. Raichi, however, glares across the field and declares he will never forgive Kuon.
9. Team W Gangs Up on Kuon Wataru
Furious at the outcome, Team W violently turns on Kuon, jumping him in a gang-style beatdown. They feel completely scammed; Kuon had failed to warn them that Chigiri—the player they knew had a crippled leg—was actually capable of running at that terrifying speed.
Cowering on the ground and shielding his head from their kicks, Kuon desperately tries to explain that he genuinely had no idea about Chigiri’s weapon.
Isagi runs over and tries to pull Keisuke off Kuon, but a violently angry Junichi grabs Isagi by the collar. Seeing this, Kunigami steps in, tightly gripping Junichi’s arm and applying agonizing pressure until he forces him to release Isagi. As the scuffle momentarily stalls the beating, Kuon scrambles to his feet and runs away to save himself.
10. Isagi Yoichi Promises to Defeat Nagi Seishiro
While walking to the Blue Lock cafeteria, Team Z accidentally spots Kuon talking to the members of Team V. Curious, they hide and eavesdrop. Kuon is eagerly pitching a deal to Team V’s star trio—Reo, Zantetsu, and Nagi—who are in the middle of eating their meal.
Kuon desperately offers to feed them all of Team Z’s information so Team V can easily prevent them from scoring. His ultimate goal is to maintain his status as Team Z’s top scorer, and he promises that having him around in the Second Selection will benefit them.
However, Zantetsu (who has scored 5 goals) and Reo (who has scored 6) flatly reject the offer. Trying to sound intellectual, Zantetsu states the deal isn’t profitable due to the “priority initiative method,” before immediately turning to Reo to ask if he used the term correctly. Reo sighs and tells Zantetsu to stop trying to sound smart.
Meanwhile, Nagi complains that this entire conversation is a pain. In fact, he notes that even chewing his steak is a pain, and asks Reo to carry him back to the dorms. Reo naturally obliges. Nagi, who has never tasted defeat in soccer and is Team V’s top scorer with 7 goals, is baffled by Kuon’s desperate, stubborn need to collude with them. Reo explains that Kuon is simply obsessed with winning.
Looking down at Kuon with pity, Nagi concludes that being weak must be incredibly exhausting. He flatly states he would rather quit soccer entirely than stoop to being someone like Kuon. He then casually asks Reo if playing soccer is even fun if you lose.
Listening from the shadows, Team Z—and Isagi in particular—is infuriated by Nagi’s incredibly arrogant dismissal of the sport. Kuon suddenly notices Team Z standing there, looking horrified. Stepping forward, Isagi glares at Nagi and warns him not to underestimate soccer. With absolute conviction, Isagi promises that when Team Z faces Team V, he will crush him.
