1. Kuon Wataru Mocks Team V

Reo snapped back, telling Kuon to shut up, which immediately silenced him. Inwardly, Kuon reflected that he wasn’t the type to give up easily on his dreams. Even if he had to fight entirely alone and resort to underhanded tactics, he still had his own way of claiming victory.
2. Reo Mikage is Shut Down
Reo refused to let Team Z turn the tide. To him, losing meant accepting his parents’ verdict that he was never meant to be a soccer player. He despised the idea of living merely as his parents’ “toy,” coasting comfortably on their wealth and expectations. He needed to prove that he could forge his own path and become a World Cup champion through his own hard work.
As Reo aggressively drove the ball forward, Raichi suddenly materialized in front of him like a demon, presenting a terrifying blockade. Forced to abandon his plan to pass to Nagi, Reo hesitated. Raichi fiercely declared that he would be the one to hand Reo—a player terrified of failure—his very first defeat.
Reo desperately wanted to blow past Raichi, but he knew Isagi was lurking right behind him like a shadow, waiting for the perfect split-second to steal the ball if he forced a play. Reo didn’t want Team Z to dominate the tempo, but he felt trapped and suffocated, entirely unsure of how to orchestrate Team V’s next attack.
3. Nagi Seishiro Takes the Initiative
Unable to watch Reo’s mounting frustration any longer, Nagi finally decided to take matters into his own hands—an initiative he had never shown before. He approached Reo, who quickly passed him the ball. Nagi calmly stated that he was going to try attacking.
With deft precision, Nagi dribbled forward, faking out Igaguri with an “Air Elastico” before slipping the ball cleanly through his legs for a nutmeg. When confronted by Imamura, Nagi distributed the ball out wide to Zantetsu on the wing. Chigiri broke into a dead sprint, chasing Zantetsu down from behind. He lunged into a desperate sliding tackle, but Zantetsu, utilizing his explosive acceleration, secured possession and easily bypassed him.
Following Nagi’s instructions, Zantetsu delivered a pinpoint cross to the left side of Team Z’s goal, right where Nagi was waiting. Despite being heavily marked by two center-backs, Nagi leapt into the air and flawlessly trapped the pass with his foot. The moment he landed, he spun rapidly and unleashed a lethal volley while the ball was still airborne. The spectacular strike tore into the net, reclaiming the lead for Team V at 4-3.
4. Raichi Jingo Orders Team Z to Keep Attacking
With only 15 minutes left, the match was nearing its end. Kunigami agreed to Chigiri’s suggestion to drop back and help defend; conceding another goal would guarantee their elimination. Kunigami instructed Team Z to park the bus and rely purely on rapid counterattacks. However, a furious Raichi scolded the team. He demanded they continue attacking with everything they had, reminding them that this relentless offensive strategy was exactly how they managed to score three goals in the first place.
Grabbing Isagi by the collar, Raichi demanded that Team Z entrust the defense entirely to him and Isagi. He openly admitted how much he loathed playing as a defender, threatening to “destroy” everyone if his soccer career ended in this position. He ordered the rest of the team to push forward and focus on scoring, reminding them that every single one of them was a striker.
5. Isagi Yoichi Masters Spatial Awareness
Bachira sent a pass to Chigiri. Confronted by Zantetsu, Chigiri kicked the ball far ahead into open space, challenging Zantetsu to an all-out sprint. Confident that his top speed would secure the win in a long race, Chigiri surged forward. However, panic set in when he saw Nagi cut across the field, perfectly reading the play and moving to intercept the loose ball.
Suddenly, Isagi awakened his ultimate weapon: “Spatial Awareness.” Granting him a god-like view of the pitch, the ability allowed him to predict the unfolding chaos. Moving with absolute certainty, Isagi intercepted the ball just milliseconds before Nagi could reach it. He instantly tapped it back into Chigiri’s path, allowing the winger to continue his blistering run down the left flank without breaking stride.
Chigiri drove the ball deep into the final third. Three Team V defenders quickly scrambled to seal off his shooting lane. But this wasn’t a problem. Spotting a sliver of space, Chigiri unleashed a fierce shot. The ball smashed violently against the right goalpost. Yet, standing completely unmarked in a defensive blind spot was Gagamaru. Team Z’s right winger pounced on the rebound and fired a shot back at the net.
In an incredible display of hustle, Reo tracked all the way back and managed to block Gagamaru’s shot. The deflected ball spun wildly into the center of the box, landing perfectly at the feet of Team Z’s central striker: Kunigami. Standing dead-center in his absolute sweet spot, Kunigami didn’t hesitate. With superhero-like resolve, he unleashed a thunderous strike that pierced the net. Team Z tied the game once again in a dramatic 4-4 deadlock.
Isagi was astounded by his own play; everything had unfolded exactly as he had simulated in his mind. It started when he covered Chigiri’s blind spot, ensuring the winger’s speed wasn’t neutralized by Nagi’s interception.
When Chigiri prepared to shoot from the left, Isagi had already predicted that the three defenders would swarm him, leaving the right side wide open for Gagamaru to crash the net. That chaos, in turn, allowed Kunigami to slip into his shooting zone completely unnoticed. By running these simulations in his head, Isagi had orchestrated a relentless, multi-layered attack with an incredibly high probability of scoring.
Through his spatial awareness, Isagi could synthesize the weapons of every player, the flow of the game, and the layout of the pitch. Relying on his eyes and his brain, he could “predict” the future and manipulate that information to manufacture goals. Isagi had finally realized how to maximize his weapon.
6. Kuon Wataru’s Past
Kuon had struggled tirelessly to recruit enough players to form a full 11-man roster for the Kitsunezaka High School soccer club. Elected as captain, he firmly declared their ultimate target: winning the national tournament. His ambitions were massive; he dreamed of turning professional and playing for the Japanese national team.
At first, Kuon genuinely enjoyed the thrill of training with his teammates. One day, when the squad showed up late, they joked that reaching nationals was impossible. Kuon brushed it off, simply scolding them and reminding them to be punctual for morning practice.
However, when faced with a crushing defeat, his teammates didn’t share his devastation. Kuon’s emotions boiled over; he couldn’t comprehend why they were so indifferent to failing. Unfortunately, his friends only played soccer for casual fun, even finding Kuon overbearing and boring because of his intense obsession with winning.
Bitter and disillusioned, Kuon realized he was the only one taking the sport seriously. He stopped caring about his teammates. Shortly after, he received an envelope from the JFU (Japan Football Union) inviting him to a special training program. He was ecstatic; finally, his talent had been recognized.
7. Kuon Wataru Refuses to Help Team Z
Team Z’s fighting spirit against Team V left Kuon increasingly stunned. Even while playing a man down, Team Z was managing to dominate the tempo. However, Team V’s offense was growing deadlier, catalyzed by Nagi’s “Awakening.” Kuon concluded that the match could swing either way, and the very next goal would seal it. If the game ended in a draw, Team Z would finish third and be eliminated from Blue Lock.
Although Kunigami had matched Kuon’s goal tally and their Fair Play points were identical, Kuon’s overall Blue Lock ranking was 265—the highest on Team Z. This meant that in the event of an elimination, Kuon would be the sole player chosen to advance to the Second Selection. Secure in his safety, Kuon remained entirely unwilling to step onto the pitch and help Team Z.
8. Kuon Wataru Becomes Team Z’s Savior
When Zantetsu launched a massive long pass to an entirely unmarked Nagi, panic ripped through Team Z. They had overcommitted to the attack and left their defense completely exposed. Isagi, however, immediately chased after Nagi, convinced he could stop him.
Isagi calculated that Nagi would reach the drop zone first. His plan was simply to stall Nagi, buying enough time for his teammates to fall back and reinforce the defense. If Nagi got past him, it would be a one-on-one with the goalkeeper, making a goal highly probable.
Catching up just as the ball descended, Isagi tried to anticipate whether Nagi would trap it with his left or right foot. Instead, Nagi executed a breathtaking trick: he cushioned the mid-air ball with his back, seamlessly altering its trajectory to bypass Isagi entirely. Blindsided by the unorthodox move, Isagi was left frozen. Nagi slipped past him in a flash, sending Team Z into absolute despair.
Nagi was now one-on-one with the keeper. Seeing Lemon rush off his line, Nagi prepared to pull the trigger from just outside the penalty box. An unstoppable game-winning goal seemed inevitable. But suddenly, Kuon—who had been standing idly on the sidelines—sprinted onto the pitch and viciously tackled Nagi to the ground.
The blatant professional foul shocked everyone in the stadium. In that split second, Kuon became the hero who emerged from the shadows, destroying Nagi’s lethal attack and buying Team Z a miraculous lifeline.
9. Kuon Wataru Risks Failing the Second Selection
Team Z was completely bewildered by Kuon’s controversial tackle. The severe foul earned him an immediate red card and an ejection from the game. The irony was palpable: Kuon had already secured a guaranteed ticket to the Second Selection as Team Z’s top scorer, even with Kunigami tying his goal count.
But fate took a brutal turn. With the red card now on his record, Kuon’s Fair Play points plummeted below Kunigami’s. If Team Z lost or drew against Team V, it would no longer be Kuon advancing; Kunigami would claim the sole survivor spot.
Before walking down the tunnel, Kuon left Team Z with a final demand: win the match. Isagi replied with absolute conviction, promising that they would defeat Team V.
10. Team V Terrorizes Team Z’s Goal
Reo ran up to ask if Nagi was hurt, but Nagi assured him he was fine. Junaidi, a Team V player, suggested they play a possession game to kill the clock, but Reo furiously rejected the idea. He wanted to utterly annihilate Team Z. Even Zantetsu felt that drawing against Team Z was equivalent to a loss. Nagi, too, was hungry for one more goal.
With exactly three minutes left on the clock, the tension reached a fever pitch. Kuon’s foul had gifted Team V a golden opportunity: a free kick from 20 meters out, just on the right edge of the penalty box. Lemon frantically ran through the scenarios in his head: would Reo pass to Nagi or Zantetsu despite the heavy marking, or would he aim directly for the net?
Reo bypassed the pass entirely, whipping a direct, lethal shot straight toward the top left corner of the goal. In a flash of brilliance, Lemon launched himself into a diving save, parrying the ball away. Unfortunately, the rebound fell perfectly into the path of Zantetsu, who shocked Team Z with his explosive acceleration. Zantetsu pulled the trigger, but Raichi materialized out of nowhere with a desperate sliding tackle, blocking the shot and startling Zantetsu.
The deflected ball looped high into the air, dropping flawlessly onto Nagi’s chest. He controlled it with chilling composure. As Nagi prepared to shoot, sheer panic gripped Team Z. Lemon braced himself to block a high shot, while Igaguri and Raichi threw their bodies to the turf to seal the lower angles. Recognizing that the keeper had stepped too far off his line, Nagi executed a delicate, Messi-style chip shot, floating the ball gracefully over Lemon, Raichi, and Igaguri.
The ball dipped, inches away from crossing the goal line, but was miraculously denied by Gagamaru. Launching his body at the net, Gagamaru kicked the ball upward, sending it crashing violently against the crossbar. The rebound off the woodwork fell squarely at the feet of Isagi Yoichi, who instantly geared up to launch Team Z’s final counterattack. Watching from the tunnel, Kuon was consumed by the electric thrill of the moment, screaming at the top of his lungs, “Go for it, Isagi!”
