1. Usopp’s Prank

Usopp sprinted through the village, screaming frantically for the residents to flee because pirates had just anchored at the shore.

The townsfolk poured out of their homes armed with brooms, ready to confront the threat.

Seeing their reaction, Usopp was thrilled his prank had worked. He quickly bolted as the furious villagers began chasing him.

Ultimately, they lost track of him. The villagers couldn’t understand why, from his childhood all the way into his teenage years, Usopp was still crying wolf about pirate attacks after all this time.

2. Meeting Usopp & Luffy

Shortly after, three young boys—Pipman, Ninjin, and Tamanegi—reported to Usopp that they had just spotted a real pirate ship heading toward Syrup Village’s shore.

Down at the beach, Luffy, Zoro, and Nami had just dropped anchor. From the cliff above, Usopp shouted at them to leave his village immediately, pulling back his slingshot, ready to fire.

Luffy warned Usopp that aiming a weapon was the same as drawing a pistol; if he fired it, he had to be ready to risk his life in a fight.

Hearing this, Usopp trembled in terror and surrendered. Luffy then laughed, revealing he was simply quoting his pirate idol, Shanks.

Later, Usopp, Luffy, Zoro, and Nami sat down for a meal at a local tavern. Luffy explained that Yasopp was a member of Shanks’s crew, and that he had often heard stories about Usopp from his father.

Luffy added that he knew Usopp was Yasopp’s son the moment he saw him, as the two looked strikingly similar.

3. Visiting the Mansion

Nami asked if Usopp knew anyone in Syrup Village who could build them a large ship. Usopp replied that he didn’t.

Zoro then asked if he knew the owner of the massive mansion in the village. At the question, Usopp grew visibly awkward. Making a hasty excuse about sudden business, he quickly left.

Inside the grand mansion, the butler Klahadore forbade his young mistress, Kaya, from associating with Usopp.

Klahadore argued that Usopp had been a known liar since childhood, and he refused to let Kaya listen to his fabricated tales.

Meanwhile, Pipman, Ninjin, and Tamanegi guided Luffy, Nami, and Zoro toward the mansion. Luffy asked how they knew Usopp had gone there.

The three boys explained that Usopp frequently visited Kaya to tell her stories. Though his tales were pure fiction, his true intention was to entertain the sickly girl, whose health had been deteriorating for years.

For Kaya, Usopp’s stories were a vital source of joy that gave her the will to keep living.

4. Usopp & Kaya

Noticing the mansion’s main gate was guarded by two security men, Luffy stretched his arms back and grabbed hold of the fence.

Zoro, Nami, Pipman, Ninjin, and Tamanegi clung tightly to Luffy’s body. In an instant, they were all launched through the air like stones from a slingshot.

Meanwhile, Kaya sat by her bedroom window, thoroughly absorbed in Usopp’s latest tale. Perched on a tree branch outside, he narrated his story with endless enthusiasm.

Suddenly, Luffy and the rest of the group crashed down right at the base of the tree in Kaya’s courtyard, startling the two friends mid-conversation.

Brushing himself off, Luffy explained that he had come to ask for a large ship. Before he could elaborate, Klahadore appeared, branding them all as intruders for trespassing on the estate.
