Meanwhile, Naruto’s mentor, Jiraiya, is also notoriously bad at gambling. During a dice game, Jiraiya incorrectly bet on whether the outcome would be odd or even.

When Naruto protested the tiny allowance, Jiraiya lectured him on the Three Prohibitions of a Shinobi—the primary vices that lead to a ninja’s downfall: alcohol, money, and women.
Even after Naruto argued that he was underage and had absolutely no interest in drinking or chasing women, Jiraiya continued to scold him for underestimating the dangers of financial mismanagement.
