1. Family Rules
At the convenience store, Shin and Sakamoto are manning the cash register. Shin recounts Sakamoto’s incredible feat of massacring Junet’s mafia squad. Pantomiming Sakamoto’s close-quarters combat moves, Shin expresses his belief that even in retirement, Sakamoto remains the strongest hitman. According to Shin, some enemies were killed by just a single strike.
This remark instantly infuriates Aoi, especially the phrase “Sakamoto killed someone.” She accuses her husband of planning to return to his life as an assassin. Terrified by her anger, Sakamoto trembles. He frantically clarifies to Shin that no one actually died in that fight, as he deliberately avoided their vital spots.
Aoi isn’t immediately convinced. She threatens to divorce Sakamoto if he dares to break their family rules. Panicking, Sakamoto nods frantically, swearing he would never do such a thing. Satisfied that he understands her warning, Aoi feels relieved and goes back to sweeping the storefront.
2. Encountering Shaotang
Sakamoto and Shin visit Nikita Chinatown. There, Sakamoto buys heavenly meat buns—a rare delicacy limited to 50 pieces a day—for Aoi and Hana. Touched by Sakamoto’s devotion to his family, Shin asks about the “family rules” Aoi mentioned, but Sakamoto refuses to elaborate.
On their way home, a woman named Shaotang suddenly crashes through a second-story shop window, landing squarely on Sakamoto. The impact sends them both sprawling and completely ruins the precious meat buns.
As five mobsters approach Shaotang, Sakamoto is entirely preoccupied with how sad Aoi and Hana will be over the ruined food. Shin rebukes him, pointing out that they are in the middle of a serious crisis.
Shaotang soon displays her impressive Tai Chi skills, leaving Shin in awe. With agile movements, she kicks two mobsters away. When three others try to flank her, she effortlessly dodges and slams one to the ground. However, another thug manages to restrain her from behind.
Just then, Sakamoto uses food tongs to snap an incoming blade aimed at Shaotang, then punches her attacker in the gut, knocking him out. Shin chimes in by smashing a briefcase over the head of the thug holding Shaotang, rendering him unconscious as well. Shaotang follows up by striking down a mobster trying to aim a gun.
Shortly after, a second group of mobsters arrives, aiming their guns at Sakamoto and Shin, assuming they are Shaotang’s accomplices. In the heat of the moment, Sakamoto throws Shaotang over his shoulder. He and Shin sprint away, dodging a hail of bullets as they make their escape.
3. The “Lu” Family’s Secret Vault Key
Mael, the CEO of Dan Corporation, berates Jamal for failing to capture Shaotang, who managed to escape with two men. Mael then summons Bacho and Son He for a special assignment: retrieve the vault key Shaotang is carrying and capture her. Confident that the key will grant his company control over the black market, Mael gives the duo permission to kill anyone who gets in their way.
Meanwhile, as they sprint and leap across rooftops, Shaotang reveals to Sakamoto and Shin that she is the daughter of the “Lu” family, a notorious mafia syndicate. She is being hunted because the mobsters want the secret family vault key she possesses.
Shin suggests she throw the key away to save her own life, but Shaotang firmly refuses. With a heavy heart, she explains that her parents died to protect the key so she could escape with it. She fears her parents’ souls will never find peace if the mafia gets their hands on it.
4. Sakamoto Agrees to Help Shaotang
When Shaotang attempts to leave so as not to drag them into her mess, Sakamoto suddenly asks if she knows how to make authentic meat buns. Realizing Sakamoto’s intent, Shin warns him against helping her, noting how dangerous their enemies are. Shaotang replies that her father taught her the basics.
Hearing this, Sakamoto tells Shin that restocking the store can wait; he has decided to help her. In exchange, he asks Shaotang to promise she will make him meat buns once her troubles are over.
As the trio stands on a rooftop, Bacho suddenly appears, delivering a fierce kick to Sakamoto’s face. The blow sends Sakamoto flying, crashing through a nearby brick wall. Shaotang warns Shin that their attackers are Son He and Bacho, infamous hitmen known for taking on high-paying assassination contracts.
Moving with blinding speed, Bacho appears behind Shaotang, ready to swing his sword. Instantly, Sakamoto reappears, driving his elbow into Bacho’s back and slamming him into the floor. The floor collapses under the impact, sending all of them crashing down into a restaurant kitchen below.
Witnessing the feat, Son He praises Sakamoto’s strength, but Bacho quickly denies it, claiming the floor was already fragile.
5. Something Precious
Son He demands that Shaotang hand over the vault key, but she flatly refuses, even if it costs her life. Hearing this, Son He reveals that her parents said the exact same thing before he killed them. He mocks her for valuing an object over her own life, claiming she doesn’t understand the value of living.
Provoked, Shaotang tries to attack him, but Sakamoto stops her. He pulls her back, throwing her behind him for protection.
Shaotang explains to Sakamoto and Shin why the key is so vital: the vault contains the hopes her ancestors left for the Lu family’s future generations. That is why her parents sacrificed themselves to protect it.
Son He hurls a knife at Shaotang, but Sakamoto easily catches it barehanded, causing his hand to bleed. Sakamoto then tells Son He that the value of something precious cannot be dictated by someone else.
Seeing Sakamoto bleed to protect her, Shaotang is deeply moved. She asks why he is willing to go so far to help her.
6. Sakamoto’s Promise to Aoi
Sakamoto’s mind drifts to a snowy Christmas Eve from his past. He was on a rooftop date with Aoi. She noticed the gift he brought, but also spotted a splatter of blood on his cheek.
Realizing he had just completed an assassination, Aoi asked why he would do something so cruel, refusing a gift bought with blood money. She walked to the edge of the roof, declaring that if he couldn’t change, she didn’t want to be with him anymore. Suddenly, she jumped.
Panicking, Sakamoto dove after her, catching her in mid-air and shielding her head. Thanks to his expertise in breaking falls, they landed safely in a snowbank.
Sitting in the cold snow, Aoi touched his cheeks. She told him that if she died, he would be heartbroken, a truth Sakamoto silently realized. She emphasized that the desire to protect precious people isn’t unique to him; everyone feels that way about their loved ones.
Aoi asked Sakamoto to promise he would never kill again, establishing it as their family rule. She wanted him to atone for the countless lives he had taken by living the rest of his life to help others.
7. Sakamoto Defeats Bacho & Son He
Using his telepathy to read Sakamoto’s memories, Shin is so moved he sheds a tear. He sees Sakamoto reaffirming his promise to Aoi not to kill, determined to atone by saving others.
Sakamoto invites Shin to take down Bacho and Son He without lethal force, and Shin agrees. Bacho, wielding twin swords, and Son He, armed with a chakram, prepare a combo technique called “Hell’s Slash.” They launch a furious, blinding assault, trying to chop Sakamoto to pieces.
However, Sakamoto stands his ground. Swaying with fluid agility, he dodges every brutal strike without a single scratch. Son He is astounded that a man of Sakamoto’s size can move so fast. The duo prepares their ultimate combo, claiming Sakamoto is only the third person to ever witness it.
As they charge up, Sakamoto smoothly lifts a stockpot full of soup with his right hand, smashing it over Bacho’s head and knocking him out. Simultaneously, he uses a frying pan in his left hand to completely shatter Son He’s incoming chakram attack.
While Shin bandages Sakamoto’s bleeding fingers, Son He makes a desperate dash toward Shaotang. Reading his mind, Shin ambushes him from behind. He wraps a rope around Son He’s neck and hurls him backward onto the floor. As Son He lies dazed, Sakamoto effortlessly hoists a massive refrigerator and slams it onto him, knocking him unconscious.
Shin ties up the defeated assassins. Watching them take down two elite hitmen so easily, a bewildered Shaotang asks, “Who are you guys, really?”
Sakamoto calmly replies, “Just convenience store clerks.”
8. Shaotang Refuses Revenge
At the Lu family estate, Mael is furious that Bacho and Son He haven’t returned with Shaotang. He pounds on the vault door in frustration, knowing the treasure he desires is just out of reach without the key.
Suddenly, a voice calls out, “Package delivery.” Mael turns to find Sakamoto and Shin standing there, dragging the unconscious and tied-up bodies of Bacho and Son He.
Confused, Mael demands to know how intruders got in and where his guards are. From behind him, Shaotang appears, pressing a knife to his neck. Terrified, Mael begs for mercy. Shaotang coldly tells him that apologies won’t bring back the parents he murdered.
In a fit of rage, she beats Mael to a pulp but ultimately chooses not to kill him. Shaotang believes that murder only breeds an endless cycle of revenge. Instead, she chooses to live a happy life, just as her late father taught her. Smiling at Sakamoto and Shin, she reaffirms her decision.
9. Precious Treasure for Shaotang
When Shaotang unlocks the vault, it reveals a hoard of valuables: books, gold jewelry, antiques, and other high-value collectibles. It is a tradition for the Lu family heads to leave their most prized possessions here, varying from generation to generation.
Curious, Sakamoto tries on a Qing dynasty hat from the vault. Looking exactly like a vampire from a classic Chinese horror movie, he appears so comical that it invites the urge to stick a paper talisman on his forehead.
Shaotang soon discovers her father’s most precious treasure: a bottle of sake accompanied by a letter. In it, her father wrote of his dream to share that very sake with her once she came of age.
Deeply moved, Shaotang declares it the best sake in the world. As a token of gratitude, she shares it with Sakamoto and Shin. They drink together, enjoying the ruined heavenly meat buns they bought earlier.
10. Sakamoto Becomes a Wanted Man
The news reports a suspected fierce gang war in Nikita Chinatown. Police are shown investigating the heavily damaged restaurant roof where Sakamoto and Bacho fought.
Meanwhile, at Sakamoto’s convenience store, Shaotang is now wearing an employee apron. Shin is shocked that someone with a mountain of inheritance would choose to work a retail job. Shaotang casually explains that she wants to make pork buns, adding that family heirlooms aren’t meant to be spent carelessly.
Shin then tells Sakamoto that he peeked into his mind and now knows why he quit being a hitman. Sakamoto smiles, telling Shin that he now considers him family. He hands Shin a notebook containing the family rules, emphasizing the first one: no killing. He warns Shin that if he breaks this rule, Sakamoto will kill him himself.
Elsewhere, a syndicate holds a meeting after receiving an envelope from the JAA organization. Inside is data on Sakamoto and Shin. The intelligence reveals that Sakamoto is now a wanted man, carrying a bounty of 108 billion rupiah for anyone who manages to take him out.
